Compensation for this role: $22.00 - $26.00/per hour (commensurate with experience) Shifts: Machine Operator - 1 st shift: Mon - Fri: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Machine Operator - 2 nd Shift: Mon - Fri 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Machine Operator Assistant - 1 st shift: Tue - Fri 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Summary: Operates or assists with the operation of the coater line, anodizer line, or printline to meet established daily production quotas, adjusting operating parameters to obtain quality in conformance to process control requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Performs or assists with start up and shut down on machinery and equipment related to manufacturing lines in accordance with proper safety and operating instructions. Operates or assists with operating lines while measuring, recording, and adjusting operating conditions to meet process control requirements. Performs or assists with in-process checks and tests on materials related to the production process. Troubleshoots or assists with troubleshooting, to correct issues, and reports nonconforming conditions. Prepares or assists with the preparation of mixes and replenishes adhesives, coatings, and other chemicals as needed. Performs or assists with changeovers and set-ups. Operates rewind equipment to rewind and/or inspect foil. Performs or assists with routine operator-level, preventative maintenance daily. Prepares or assists with the preparation and maintenance of accurate paperwork and records necessary to document production processes. Reports accurate and timely product information as required. Cleans and prepares gravure rolls and other rolls as needed for production. Organizes, cleans, and maintains tools, equipment, products, and supplies daily in accordance with established company procedures Contributes suggestions for improvements to company equipment, processes, and/or products. Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Safety Manager, supervisor, or management. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities include making minor adjustments to the machinery to achieve the correct product, troubleshooting, maintenance of machinery, and record keeping. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintains shift documentation (i.e., Metal Detector and Batch Order Verifications) * Reads production schedule and plans accordingly. * Reads and interprets schedule in MicroStrategy. * Able to print labels on different printers, choosing correct program for each printer; move eye and clean printers. * Perform nitrogen testing. * Efficiently maintains the operation of packaging machinery by monitoring codes, dates, and prices. * Maintains an adequate supply of roll stock and ensures all packaging materials are available for each machine. * Set up and write new programs for bag makers. * Writes and/or edits machine micro logic as needed to maintain an efficient and low waste operation. * Creating and modifying code dates. * Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Sets up and makes minor scale repairs and adjustments. * Perform span calibration and/or adjustments on scales, adjust scales linkages so it opens and shuts correctly, make minor adjustments to formers. * Efficiently operates packaging equipment which may include case sealers and robot cells. Job Description: The Machine Operator/Moulder Operator functions as an integral part of the Lumber Mill Production Team, and is responsible for, and has the authority for, setting up and operating a group of machines and making necessary adjustments or mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Additional responsibilities include quality checks, routine & periodic maintenance, and housekeeping. Job Responsibilities: Take off previously run heads and install new profile heads for processing of current order. Have raw lumber stock in back of Moulder to start manufacturing as soon as Moulder is set up. Inspect all material manufactured through Moulder for quality of finish, accuracy of profile and size (net) required. Defect cut from exit side of Moulder defects that are not acceptable to customer. Put correct footages on mill tickets and if shortage occurs, check with Mill Supervisor for restocking needs. Keep customer mill sample for reference as well as samples from beginning of most current run. Take care of necessary paperwork - time, footage shipped, footage laid out and reason for layout. Strive to meet production target of 25,000 LF per day. (2 Moulders: Weinig PowerMat P1200 and Weinig UniMat) Make sure Moulder has normal maintenance procedures performed as needed. Notify Mill Supervisor if there should be any major maintenance needed or performed. As part of the mill team, you are obligated to customers and your co-workers to perform to the highest of standards. Qualifications: Experience working in a manufacturing environment Stable work history in a metal shop environment; experience with welding, shearing, and metal forming Experience with Robotic Welding machines is ideal Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment Ability to be able to go back and forth between machine operation and welding duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Mechanically inclined; knowledge of and ability to use tools Read a tape measure and successfully perform general math skills Operate a forklift; forklift certification or license is a plus Assisting with inventory accuracy; log items made and ensure items are stored and labeled properly Ability to use cutting machines for bend products; operate the sheer and bender to cut and bend products Ability to do both machine operation and welding as business needs dictates Benefits: Health / Dental insurance Life insurance 401k with match up to 4% PTO (2 wks after 1st year, 3 wks after 3 yrs) and 8 Paid Holidays All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
