The Mechanical Engineer II independently contributes to the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for Ideal Aerosmith's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). This role owns defined components or subsystems and balances performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability within aggressive development timelines. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound engineering judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and comfort working across design, prototyping, and test activities. Job Responsibilities Design mechanical components and subsystems for UAVs and USVs, including propulsion-adjacent hardware, structures, and payload interfaces. Develop detailed CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation. Perform mechanical analyses to support design decisions (e.g., structural, thermal, or vibration). Support prototype builds and lead mechanical integration activities. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for rapid and cost-effective production. Manufacturing Engineer (Level I / II / III / Sr.) Status: Exempt Last Revised: 6/20/2020 The primary role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to provide support, guidance, and leadership to production operations by working to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, process efficiency, and the flow of information and materials. Requirements WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Engineering degree (for Manufacturing Engineer) or related courses and work experience (for Technician). Lean certification or equivalent applicable work experience. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Effective team player with strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD or UniGraphics and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities. Up to 10% travel may be required.
