Position Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and adjust numerically controlled milling machines, utilizing various control media, program documents, holding fixtures, and cutting tools, or manually entering required data to meet quality requirements
Obtain information from drawings, documents, sketches, and verbal instructions to prepare for machining operations
Make necessary preparations and adjustments to ready the machine for operation, including installing various cutting tools during machining cycles as authorized
Use measuring instruments and gauges to check cutting tools and parts for conformance to specifications and prints
Assist planners or programmers in determining the final numerical control program as authorized
Mount and check cutting tools in holders, ensuring proper loading in machine magazines or spindles
Initiate requests for corrective action in the event of machine malfunctions and detect faulty tools, taking corrective action in accordance with shop practices
Load, preload, and manually position fixtures at designated program stops
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards

CNC Machinists are responsible for setting-up, maintaining, and operating 3, 4, and 5 axis mills and lathes.
Principal Responsibilities:
Set-up and operate mills, independently with limited supervision
Perform visual inspections as well as dimensional inspections of parts to engineered specifications
Complete and sign all supporting documentation (job travelers, preventive maintenance schedules, other records)
Ensure that the first part of each job is inspected by Quality Assurance to prevent nonconforming product
Perform all in-process inspections as required by the job traveler using precision measuring tools
Assure adequate deburr/cleanliness of parts
Inspect all raw materials, ensuring gauge and quality, prior to running through machine
Read and interpret blueprints to ensure finished product meets customer specifications and/or exceeds print or in-process tolerances
Learns optimal cutting techniques, speeds, and feeds
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and informs lead person of discrepancies
Count products or materials and ensure parts are properly stacked or packed for in-process movement or shipping
Clean and adjust machines as needed to ensure quality of product
Operate other machines or equipment as directed by the supervisor, when work may be slow in area
Complete all other duties as assigned by the department supervisor including working in other areas or departments
Maintain good housekeeping and perform machinery maintenance and keep area clean to eliminate FOD
Follows all policies, procedures, standards and safety requirements directed by management
Perform other duties as they are assigned such as empty trash bins, replacing toilet paper, and other housekeeping duties

As part of our recent growth, we are seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Set up manual and CNC equipment with limited supervision.
Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gage and other measuring equipment needed to complete work with limited supervision.
Perform first part inspection and in process inspections.
Ensure all documentation is complete and correct.
Detect and report defective equipment, materials and/or faulty operations to supervisor.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

Knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance.
