    The Injection Molding Machine Maintenance-Repair / Tool and Die Maker is responsible for complex mold maintenance. Must be able to perform a wide range of tool room operations connected with the maintenance, repair and alteration of molds and injection molding equipment. Use outstanding judgment to verify new molds, equipment and tooling. Have a thorough knowledge of machine shop practices, must be able to read and comprehend blueprints and technical data, work from complicated drawings, sketches, samples of verbal instructions. Interpret drawing, plan and lay out work, diagnose and correct, use all types of precision measuring instruments and gages issues. The successful candidate must be able to multitask in a diversified work environment, should have a minimum of 5 years' experience of ‘hands-on' injection mold maintenance and similar experience dealing in plastic polymers. Qualifications required: Must have a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment Must have ability to use tool room equipment such as grinders and mills Must be capable of working on molds and making tight tolerances parts Must able to comprehend part and tool prints Injection mold dis-assemble/assembly and perform general mold maintenance Self-motivated, good organizational skill, team player Must be able to follow safety guidelines on the production floor Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair tooling problems on the production floor, identify and implement tooling improvements 5+ years' hands-on work experience in Injection Molding Die maker or machinist certificate Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO 9001:2008 certified company Essential functions and responsibilities: Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement Repairs and re-builds injection molds by arranging for welding and rework, machining, polishing and finishing to required surface finish Fits and assembles parts and tests completed molds for proper operation Verifies conformance of repaired injection molds or related tooling to specification by checking dimension, clearances and alignments using various test equipment, consistently working to close tolerances Able to read and understand mold drawings * Recommend mold design changes Keep inventory of spare parts at an appropriate level and well organized Operates a variety of machine tools, such as drill press, surface grinder to prescribed dimension and surface finish. May cut, mill, grind or otherwise repair work piece to prescribed dimension and finish Operates crane to remove and/or relocate molds to specific workstations/areas Have a valid Forklift license Provides general maintenance and cleanup of all Tool room equipment Participates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an on-going basis Proficient in written and verbal communication skills Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair and maintenance Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance and repair for tooling and equipment Implement and manage all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment Maintains product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systems Report any potential food safety, legality, quality, or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnel Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices Must follow all company policies and procedures Non-essential skills and experience: Other duties as required Success factors/job competencies: Team player Problem solving skills Ability to manage projects and follow through Physical demands and work environment: Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
