Toolmaker / Machinist

Responsibilities:
Ability to work in a fast paced ever changing group of businesses within the Aerospace Industry while maintaining a professional disposition and team mentality.
Set-up and operation of CNC mills, CNC lathes, and all manual tool room equipment to produce fixtures, gages or other work holding along with customer parts.
Experienced in holding tight tolerances and working on their own from prints, process sheets, and travelers to follow or determine the right processing for the company need while ensuring safety and maximum efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and GD&T specifications.
Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, micrometers, CMM's, Optical Comparators, and other quality gages.
Work with engineers and operators on various shop improvement projects.
Help manage and improve the company's Tooling and Fixturing Database working with Engineering / Operational resources.
Utilize hand and machine tools for assemblies and to repair and modify gauges, and jigs etc.
Work collaboratively with other departments to assist in both product design and design for manufacturing.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools and fixtures.
File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and that they fit together properly.
Requirements:
Experience with SolidWorks and CAM packages is preferred.
Experience with Tooling and Fixturing is a necessary skill set.
Fluent in reading customer drawings, specifications and sketches containing multiple views and sections.
Must have the ability to accurately measure and perform all quality inspections throughout the process.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, surface table height gauges, dial indicators, gauge blocks and gauge pins.
Manual and CNC background required
Experience working in an AS9100 environment a plus.
