The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, staging, pulling and distributing pallets of Keurig Dr Pepper product supplies while meeting productivity requirements. Shift and Schedule:This is a full time position on 3rd shift, Monday - Friday, Saturdays as needed, from 10:00pm - 6:30am. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled. Position ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload trucks. Lift, carry, pick, and stack materials. Supply production line with empty containers. Remove full product from palletizer to staging area. Supply packaging material, cartons and hulls to line as needed. Spot trailers as directed. Maintain pallet supply for palletizer. Rotate floor stock by moving oldest product first. Perform general housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned. Total Rewards:Pay starting at $22. 95 per hour plus a $0. 30 shift differential. The employee will move to a higher rate of $24. 15 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary. Responsibilities and Duties: • Checks all tools and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure good housekeeping is maintained, documents housekeeping as required, and contacts Maintenance whenever equipment is not running properly. Completes preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment as assigned. • Assumes “ownership” of the warehouse area by removing clutter, properly labeling and moving materials in a timely manner, completing daily house-keeping activities, and appropriate adjustments are completed to guarantee material inventory accuracy. Maintains the “Five Second Rule” whereby anyone walking through the warehouse can tell in 5 seconds or less whether everything is in its proper place. As an ongoing goal, the area should always be “inspection-ready”. • Performs daily forklift inspection and documents findings on the “Daily Forklift Inspection Checklist”. • Carefully operates forklifts and other equipment in a safe manner to assure safety for everyone and avoid damage to materials, equipment and building assets. Any “near miss” or actual damage must be reported immediately to the Shift Leader or MMLM. • Works proactively and with a sense of urgency to ensure that all machines within the facility are kept stocked with materials in support of the production schedule as well as properly returning and documenting materials to the warehouse when required. Alerts Material Coordinator, MMLM or Shift Leader immediately when scheduled materials have not yet been received or are not physically here. Minimizing machine down time due to lack of materials is a key goal of this position. • Labels all materials and accurately. Accounts for and documents all material movements to maintain our inventory and location accuracy. • Wraps, bands, labels, and secures materials to pallets for safe movement of materials. • Make sure all material (boxes, zippers, film, cores) are pulled in FIFO (first in first out). • Assists with monthly physical inventory both on and offsite locations. • Ensures that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company and quality procedures as set forth in the Personnel Handbook and the Quality Manual. Participates in quality programs and stays updated on changes to the Quality Manual. • Supports the company emphasis on teamwork and cooperation to achieve our goals by performing other duties as assigned including working in other departments from time to time and helping with periodic cleanup issues. • Generates improvement ideas and embraces improvement projects to better the business. • Participates in 6S initiatives and Kaizen events as required. Summary: • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of the following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions • Loads or unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders • Participates in routing, counting, and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections • Maintains radio communication with the appropriate personnel Requirements: Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience must be within the last 5 years. Experience must also be operating in small confined areas with pedestrian traffic. Must have knowledge of OSHA forklift and pedestrian regulations and processes. Ability to successfully complete written and hands-on demonstration of operation to confirm competency requirements are present. Valid driver's license Strong attention to detail Qualified candidates must have strong basic math skills and the ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and procedures. 1st shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
