We are seeking qualified candidates for a Material Handler position. The hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Material Handler drives and inspects liquefied gas or electric powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices (forklift forks) to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials for receiving, factory service, and scrap operations. Responsibilities of the position include: * Checks assigned forklift at beginning of shift to ensure unit is functional; maneuvers forklift as designed. * Recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank as needed. * Obtains proper documents from supervisor indicating work to be completed. * Positions forks over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or material and transports load to designated area. * As needed, stretch wraps pallets possibly with corners, attaches inventory tickets to pallets or labels pallet with SKU number, and places pallets into proper location in the warehouse. * Empties all full scrap containers in assigned areas and disposes of materials using cardboard compactor, open top, and trash compactor. * Stacks or restacks product pallets. * Moves all damaged pallets to pallet trailer. Maintains counts and documentation. * Stages scrap material. Loads scrap trailers and trucks as needed. * Stages scrap appliance load and maintains log. * Keeps work area clean and orderly. * Performs other miscellaneous related duties as required. Requirements of the Position Include: * High School Diploma or equivalent with one to three months related experience and/or training. * Forklift certification * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. * Previous manufacturing experience desirable. Must continuously stand, use fingers to handle, finger, or feel. Must regularly reach with hands and arms and occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
