We have an immediate opportunity for a Material Handler (Forklift Operator) - 2nd & 3rd shift. In this function you will transfer material throughout the plant and warehouse manually or by operating electric powered lifts. Starting Pay: $17.00/hour plus a $0.50 shift differential for 2nd shift and $0.75 shift differential for 3rd shift Shift Times: 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to 12am (with occasional weekends). 3rd Shift, Sunday through Thursday, 11:30pm to 8am (with occasional weekends) RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity. **_Work schedule for this role is: 8:00am - 4:30pm (or working until the work is complete), Monday-Friday. Overtime may be required based on business needs._** **_What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health_** Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, and supply planning. **_Responsibilities:_** + Unloads trucks in the Inbound section by using a pallet jack or equivalent devices to put pallets out of the trucks. + Uses Manhattan Warehouse Management System to check in products. If working with specialty products, must follow regulations to store refrigerated products. + Stores products in warehouse locations using order picker or other devices. + Picks products from warehouse locations and loads into outbound trucks. **_Qualifications:_** + Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. + Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift. + Comfort working with heights 20-30 feet regularly. + High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred. + Previous material handling equipment experience (PIT) preferred. + Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred. + Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice. + Ability to follow direction and change priorities while working independently or as a member of a team. + Aptitude to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while meeting hourly established performance standards. + Good verbal and written communication skills. + Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse. + Adhere to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health's EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures. **_What is expected of you and others at this level:_** + Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks + Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area + Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications + Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution + Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods + Adheres to all quality guidelines + Works under moderate degree of supervision + Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor + Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor _Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply._ _Cardinal Health supports an inclusive workplace that values diversity of thought, experience and background.
