For this role in Oakville, Ontario, The hourly wage range for this position is CAD $25 to $35 per hour. Come join us at Terrestrial Energy, a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors. We are growing our workforce to develop and deploy our Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant to provide cost-competitive, clean firm heat and power to industry.
The Company has recently completed a merger creating a publicly listed operating company (NASDAQ “IMSR”), to secure the capital resources for our next growth phase. The MechanicalDesignEngineering Intern, under the direction of the MechanicalEngineering Manager, is primarily responsible for aiding the MechanicalDesign team in the design, development and analysis of mechanical systems.
Other Responsibilities Include:
Prepare & edit calculations, analysis and assessment documents for the development of system and equipment design
Conduct research for design development and optimization
Facilitate communication and work with various technical disciplines to understand system design(s) and interfacing requirements
Coordinate and interface with the plant layout lead in the development of 3D CAD for the responsible mechanical systems
Assist in the development of design specifications to align with project requirements and industry standards
Contribute to timely resolution of mechanicaldesign challenges and address risks
Participate in design review meetings to provide input, feedback, and support for design validation and improvement
Coordinate and support work with other disciplines
Conduct presentations to interdisciplinary team and external parties
Interface with external vendors, experts and design agencies
Exposure to nuclear, thermal, mechanical analysis and design of systems and components in relation to the reactor system

Education
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in MechanicalEngineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation
The Mechanical Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of renewable energy projects, including substations, wind farms, and photovoltaic plants. Reporting to the Project or Site Manager, this role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, oversees subcontractors, and ensures all project activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes and laws. The Project Engineer is responsible for technical guidance, resource management, and progress tracking to deliver high-quality installations on schedule and within budget.
What You Will Do:
* Supervise and coordinate field personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
* Oversee site preparation, construction, installation, and commissioning activities for energy infrastructure projects.
* Provide technical support, interpret construction drawings, and resolve field issues related to equipment and installations.
* Monitor schedules, set production targets, and track progress for assigned tasks.
* Forecast and control costs, assist with financial closings, and maintain accurate records of work status.
* Conduct field inspections to verify quality of work and adherence to codes and regulations.
* Ensure effective implementation of safety policies and procedures.
* Manage material and equipment needs, track usage, and minimize waste.
* Communicate effectively with project management, suppliers, and stakeholders to address challenges and update on progress.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Project or Site Manager.
Who You Are: A Profile of Success
* Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering
* Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in energy infrastructure projects, including field supervision or project support roles.
* Strong knowledge of construction systems, equipment, installation practices, and utility requirements.
* Experience interpreting and applying relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NEMA, OSHA, local building codes).
* Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
* Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Blue Beam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

About the Role
Riot Platforms is looking for a Critical Operations Engineer to support 24x7 operations of mission-critical infrastructure. This role performs monitoring, preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and controlled switching to maintain availability and safety.
What You'll Do
Monitor critical systems via BMS/EPMS and perform rounds/inspections; identify abnormal conditions and initiate corrective actions.
Execute maintenance activities (PMs, corrective work) on electrical and mechanical systems and coordinate with vendors/OEMs.
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for alarms, equipment failures, and environmental issues.
Execute change management procedures: review/execute MOPs, follow EOPs, maintain logs, and ensure proper approvals.
Support safe switching operations, LOTO, and permit processes; maintain strict compliance with site safety standards.
Respond to incidents (power, cooling, fire/life safety) and participate in incident bridges, escalation, and recovery.
Update documentation: runbooks, one-lines, operating procedures, and maintenance records in CMMS.
Support capacity/efficiency initiatives (e.g., airflow, setpoints, trending, minor optimizations).
Provide technical guidance to technicians and coordinate work across shifts.
What You'll Bring
2-5 years of mission-critical operations experience (data centers, facilities, industrial).
Working knowledge of UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, switchgear, PDUs/RPPs, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, cooling towers (as applicable).
Comfort with troubleshooting using meters, test equipment, and system trending tools.
Ability to work shifts, including nights/weekends/holidays, and on call as required.
Conduct rounds that include liquid cooling infrastructure checks (visual inspections for leaks, verify drip trays/containment, check hose routing/strain relief, and confirm normal indications on local displays where applicable).
Execute first-response actions for leak events per site procedure (secure area, notify escalation, deploy spill kit/containment as trained, support isolation steps under direction).
Associates degree and/or 2 years of experience.
Preferred
Electrical/mechanical license, military power/cooling background, or equivalent.
Familiarity with NFPA 70E, LOTO programs, and MOP/SOP/EOP frameworks.
Compensation and Benefits
