What this job involves:
The Critical Environments Operating Engineer is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems etc.)
What is your day to day?
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time including: fire/life safety, mechanical systems such as (HVAC, chillers, crac, crah, plumbing, controls), electrical including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers), and hot water systems.
Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Must record readings and make and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Learn and understand the data center site in-order to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
Work order management, including CMMS, Vendor Management, and Customer Facing Tickets.
Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
Perform additional job duties as required.

Physical Work Abilities & Requirements:
This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:

What You'll Do
Work closely with other aerodynamics engineers, design engineers, and race team staff to improve the performance of the complete racecar and implement aerodynamic refinements
Provide direction and actionable data to GM race teams to improve weekend performance
Support full car and subsystem models for use in detailed aerodynamic tests
Assist with planning, preparation and execution of wind tunnel tests
Organize test results into concise, presentable reports for proper decision making and implementation
Use GM CAD software to generate new aerodynamic concepts and refinements for both CFD and wind tunnel testing
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, or a related subject with coursework in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics
5 or more years of professional motorsports experience
Experience with computer tools, 3D CAD files, CAE methods and Experimental Data
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with a talent for organization, collaboration, and communication
Excellent written and verbal skill
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of experimental aerodynamics best practices
Ability to effectively work with others and support team goals
Experience with data acquisition systems, data collection, and data processing

This role blends project leadership with product design. You will frequently act as project manager, owning schedule, scope, cost, risk, and cross-functional communication, while also performing mechanical part design and occasional electrical wire‑harness integration. You'll drive concepts through launch using our Product Creation Process (PCP) and partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to deliver projects on time, on cost, and on spec.
What You'll Do
Project Management & Ownership
* Define and manage project parameters (scope, schedule, cost targets, serviceability, functional requirements); maintain RAID (risks/assumptions/issues/dependencies).
* Lead multi‑functional design reviews; ensure safety and compliance requirements are addressed per PCP.
* Coordinate pilot builds and tracking meetings; publish status and decision logs; escalate risks with mitigation plans.
* Author/drive change control (ECR/ECO); partner with suppliers reviewing PPAPs and ensuring production readiness.
* Lead cost‑reduction and product‑improvement initiatives; measure outcomes and close out actions.
Mechanical Design
* Create and release 3D CAD models and detailed drawings; perform tolerance stack‑ups; ensure DFM/DFA and serviceability.
* Conduct or guide basic calculations (strength, loads, performance) and collaborate on FEA/DFMEA/DVP&R.
* Support production and field issues; manage deviations and corrective actions.
Electrical Wire Harness Design & Integration (Occasional)
* Design or update 2D/3D harness layouts and routing within mechanical envelopes; specify connectors, terminals, wire gauge, shielding, strain relief, labeling, and serviceability.
* Review supplier deviation requests from current designs and determine if changes are acceptable through testing or engineering documentation.
* Build concept validation prototypes by modifying or creating prototype wire harnesses.
Standards & Liaison
* Ensure projects comply with applicable product engineering and safety standards.
* Maintain strong communication with Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and external suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or related).
* 2-10 years relevant engineering experience (Design Engineer I/II or equivalent).
* Demonstrated experience in product design.
