We are seeking entry-level to experienced candidates to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidates will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility located near Green Bay, WI.

DesignEngineerMechanicalDesignEngineer will be responsible for the concept and development of structural, electrical, and hydraulic components. Key responsibilities include creating CAD models and design documentation, and collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing, and validation teams to optimize designs.
Job Description
Support the design and development of structural, electrical and hydraulic components.
Conduct design reviews of new prototype components and systems.
Document all design activity with CAD models, design drawings, analysis results, and design review presentation materials.
Provide information and visit prototype component suppliers as necessary.
Review continuous improvement cycles of production vehicles and warranty improvement based on customer and factory feedback.
Work with manufacturing, product verification and validation, and suppliers to develop efficient and cost-effective designs.
Use CAD Software to assist in the 3-D Modeling of components, sheet metal and possibly hydraulic & electrical routings, including light analysis of structural components.
Prepare CAD models appropriate for more detailed analysis as necessary (i.e. finite element analysis (FEA).
Requirements
BS Degree in MechanicalEngineering or related field.
Proficiency in engineering principles including but not limited to structural mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics.
Proficiency in 3D CAD - (Solid Works preferred).
Knowledge of typical engineering standards in drawing practice, dimensioning and tolerancing, drawing symbols, welding practice, etc.
Prior experience with off-road equipment
Pay Range: $65,000-$95,000 - Commensurate with experience

What you will do:
Client Engagement & Collaboration
Serve as the primary mechanicalengineering contact for architectural K-12 and public-sector clients and building owners, guiding them through design decisions and system selections.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
New Product Development (60%)
* Lead the execution of new product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer CTQs (Critical to Quality).
* Plan and conduct manufacturing trials transitioning from prototype to full-scale production, including off-shift trial support as needed.
* Analyze trial results to assess cost, performance, and quality metrics; iterate designs as necessary.
* Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to incorporate customer feedback and drive product refinement.
* Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and market trends to assess risk and opportunities that may impact future profitability.
* Support operational scale-up efforts to ensure efficient, high-quality production of new products.

* Partner with Procurement to define incoming material specifications based on product requirements and trial outcomes.
* Contribute to achieving annual cost savings goals by qualifying new suppliers, leveraging pricing opportunities, and supporting sourcing strategies.
Project Leadership (20%)
* Act as a technical resource for Operations and Quality teams to troubleshoot complex product or manufacturing challenges.

This position will make updates to the roadway design procedures in Chapter 11 - Design of the Facilities Design Manual (FDM) as well as help with updates to other chapters in the FDM. This position will develop and maintain the Department's standard detail drawings and other special construction design details for use in construction plans. In addition, this position provides evaluations, technical advice, training and information to others about roadway design standards and highway engineering problems. This position is responsible for writing technical reports and correspondence, responding to questionnaires and participating in technical committees as a staff expert on roadway design criteria, geometric design, roadside safety design, and highway capacity.
Salary Information
The Senior level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $83,304 - $102,398 depending upon qualifications and experience.
The Advanced level position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $112,237 depending on qualifications and experience. The Advanced level also receives up to an additional $2,080/year for having your Professional Engineering license.
WisDOT also offers excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications
A minimally qualified Senior candidate will have the following:
* Upon hire, candidate must have graduated from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) ABET accredited college or university with a 4-year bachelor's degree (or Master's or PH.D.) in engineering OR have graduated from an Engineer Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) accredited college AND hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification OR possess a PE license (registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin OR a valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state).
* At least 4 years of professional engineering experience after receiving degree from an ABET accredited University in design, construction, traffic, or maintenance of transportation structures.
Additionally, a qualified Advanced candidate will have the above experience as well as:
* A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state.
