What's involved in this role:
We are looking for a Project Engineer in Lake Norden, SD.
Apply company methodologies and enforce project standards.
Minimize expenses and risks of project.
Enforce safety standards and construction best practices.
Track and report team hours and expenses.
Prepare process designs, equipment specifications and capital estimates for process upgrades, modifications to existing systems and installation / commissioning of new assets.
Provide methods, equipment recommendations and standard operating practices to optimize processes and meet product specifications.
Facilitate training as necessary. Conduct plant assessments to identify asset deficiencies; execute corrective action as required.
Work with plant management/corporate functions on project planning involving business growth / innovation, quality improvement, and safety.
Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediate reporting of any potential food safety issues to management.
Coordinate implementation, write technical specifications, prepare plans and quotes, and allocate contracts for capital expenditure projects.
Regularly communicate with on-site contractors to instruct, guide and answer questions.
Troubleshoot problems with production and takes corrective action or proposes necessary capital projects to correct.
Prepare and closely manage project budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Perform cost/benefit analysis for various design alternatives.
Interface with vendors to evaluate material and equipment selections.
Interface with suppliers for field support of various equipment and systems.
Assist in plant start-up and commissioning activities.
Support environmental permitting and compliance issues.
What you need to join our team:
Minimum one (1) year of project engineering experience.
Experience in dairy, food, or sanitary processes.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

Mechanical Design Engineer
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with the multifunctional teams including sales, operations, product support, purchasing and production. You will develop ground up design solutions for new and existing products. You will engage heavily with manufacturing and other engineering teams in the development of construction and mining equipment.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative products from concept to a manufacturable product while assuring design intent and integrity is maintained.
Design custom equipment that meets all technical requirements of assigned projects including new products, product enhancements, and cost reductions.
Perform analysis or calculations on project designs to achieve desired safety factors.
Applicable knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly Principles as well as material optimization.
Initiate and implement design related cost reductions and quality improvement ideas.
Provide project management and follow through on assigned projects.
Develop and maintain design documentation including 2-D drawings, 3-D CAD designs and project specifications.
Organize and maintain BOM's for all assigned projects.
Collaborate with and Support internal departments with technical information.
Work collectively with Purchasing to obtain components and materials for projects.
Assist Manufacturing after projects are released and on design updates as required.
Make necessary field trips to assist with Product Support, Engineering and Sales.
Provide senior leadership, training, and mentoring to lower-level engineers.
Complete assignments on time as scheduled by Engineering.
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Industrial Engineering or related Engineering Discipline
3+ years of 2D and 3D modeling experience (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred)
Prior experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), both simulation software and hand calculations
Demonstrated experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Must have a valid Driver's License
Desired Attributes
Experience with manufacturing processes including welding, fabrication, or assembly of heavy structural steel
Desire to work in an engineering environment focusing on robust & cost-effective designs
Experience with product design, preferably off-road equipment.

Real World Responsibilities:
During your time with us you will:
Team member will perform work in conjunction with on-staff Engineering Team with focus on daily production needs (e.g. problem resolution) and value improvements.
This may include the following: basic analysis and testing; setting-up and administering tests to verify functionality, strength, safety; design considerations of prototype parts, assemblies, product design sketches and drawings.
Create detailed engineering documentation including design, drafting and analysis on process and/or product improvement projects
SolidWorks, Microsoft Office products as well as other engineering software will be utilized.
Position may involve researching components and contacting suppliers.
Team member will work on continuous improvement of processes and procedures in a lean manufacturing environment.
