POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer will apply engineering techniques and provide engineering services in the design, specification, construction and start-up of new and improved production process, equipment, buildings and support systems. In this hands-on role, you'll support the design and integration of electronic modules, subsystems, and rugged server assemblies from concept through production.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support mechanicaldesign efforts for electronic modules, subsystems, and rack-mounted server hardware
* Assist with mechanical packaging design, printed wiring board layout, connector selection, cable and label design, prototype inspection and assembly as well as ECAD support
* Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement
* Participate in the full product lifecycle; from concept development through integration, testing, and production release
* Create and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWork
* Contribute to documentation required for procurement, assembly, verification, and validation
* Support environmental testing, inspection reports, and test plan development
* Help structure Bills of Material (BOMs) and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs/ECOs)
* Assist with procuring prototype materials to validate form, fit, and function
* Communicate design concepts and technical documentation to both internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering or a related technical discipline
* A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
* Basic understanding of heat transfer and thermal management principles
* Familiarity with conventional and advanced manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturing
* Experience with 3D CAD tools
* Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
* Be able to intern onsite in West Caldwell or Saddle River, NJ
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with electronics hardware assembly
* Familiarity with GD&T and technical drawings
* Experience using SolidWorks PDM tools
