Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer supports the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of assigned capital projects within aluminum extrusion, fabrication, and billet casting facilities. These projects typically range in value from $1 million to $40 million and may involve the refurbishment of existing equipment or the installation of new systems. All projects are to be developed and executed in alignment with Hydro's Capital Value Process.
Required Education/Experience
* Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, and or equivalent work experience is preferred.
* 5 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment and with capital project life cycle.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in combustion systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics (preferred).
* Hands-on experience with CNC fixturing, operation, and implementation (preferred).
* Prior experience in aluminum extrusion and/or fabrication operations is highly desirable.
* Proven track record in the installation and commissioning of mill-grade industrial equipment.
* Experience in designing custom equipment to meet specific manufacturing requirements.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project planning and scheduling.
* Proficient in managing and editing technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
* Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, with practical experience in waste reduction and process improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead the safe, timely, and cost-effective development and execution of capital projects.
* Perform mechanical engineering and design activities from concept development through project handover, in alignment with the established PESHA process.
* Execute a range of engineering tasks, including analytical problem-solving, design calculations, technical evaluations of supplier and contractor proposals, equipment and contractor selection, and drawing creation and management.
* Actively participate in cross-functional teams to drive alignment and achieve shared project goals.
* Travel to domestic and international vendor and supplier sites as required to support project execution (up to 90%).
* Identify and implement changes, enhancements, and modifications to improve manufacturing value and efficiency.
* Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, including accessing equipment via ladders or elevated platforms to assess progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
* Design and draft mechanical systems related to aluminum manufacturing equipment, with a focus on CNC/fabrication, extrusion, and heavy mill machinery.
* Develop specifications and detailed documentation for machine subassemblies, or be responsible for detail design of, such as robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and machining fixtures.

**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE**
As a key member of the Project Management team, the Project Engineer is responsible for the management and coordination of all technical aspects of new power generation capital projects. Responsibilities
Maintains contract with select trade partners and responsible for some subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries and supervising progress.
Participates in change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact before reviewing.
Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (coordinating RFIs, shop drawing and submittal process maintaining as-built drawings, etc.) (BLDG and CIVIL).
Collaborates with the project team lead in supervising design with timely response to the submittal schedule.
Participates in the reviews of trade partners' submittals form compliance with scope, design documentation prior to forwarding to design for review.
Coordinates with project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope performance as per site HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality.
Prepares and supervises progress claims and estimates.
Coordinates inventory and tracking of materials and equipment and expedites material orders.
Assists with site inspections from the design team to resolve constructability and site coordination issues and reviews and sign offs on functionality, AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements, and code compliance. Ensures that resolution is achieved and accepted by all partners.
Involved in and participates with overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
Qualifications
1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
Associates or bachelor's degree in a related subject area: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
Verified understanding about construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards as per field.
Ability to apply basic engineering/problem solving principles to construction challenges.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize own work and delegate simple tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
* Degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Science, Management Science or commensurate experience)
* 7+ years of experience in analytics, engineering, use of AI and/or workflow automation for business improvement
* 7+ years of SQL development experience writing queries, R or Python
* Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and automation tools/platforms
* Significant experience with data visualization tools and leveraging data driven models to drive business decisions
* Experience with statistics (e.g. statistics basics, statistical modeling, experimental design, hypothesis testing, etc.)
* Demonstrated experience with proactively identifying, scoping and implementing solutions
* Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a large-scale data center environment

Responsibilities
* Translate business challenges into clear, actionable requirements for AI-enabled solutions
* Map end-to-end business processes, highlighting areas where AI can drive efficiency and value
* Design, build and implement AI-driven automation solutions to uncover operational data insights that drive decision making
* Develop and deploy solutions and AI prompts to identify and address operational bottlenecks, replacing manual interventions with intelligent automation
* Create scalable automation mechanisms that proactively monitor, analyze, and report on operations
* Build robust predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast risks, anticipate issues and optimize operations
* Surface actionable insights that enable data-driven, proactive decision-making in global operations
* Develop monitoring tools to trigger early warnings and facilitate rapid resolution through automation
* Acts as a data subject matter go to on operation of servers in a hyper-scale data center environment
* Formulate the right metrics, measures, and definitions of success to drive quality, efficiency, cost, and timeliness understanding the source data
* Perform complex data analysis leveraging data streams available to drive proactive and predictive action
* Partner with operational analysts and data science to understand pain points, identify repetitive tasks and translate them into opportunities for automation
* Bring multiple areas of business and engineering together via a common reliable foundation of common data, metrics, and insights to enhance operational performance of Meta's infrastructure
* Provide data supplied narratives that are connected to the business, determining what is important and what next steps should be taken
* Build data tables and dashboards, and leverage these for interpreting incidents and trends
* Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Meta's data center strategy
* Leverage tools like R, Tableau, Python, and SQL to drive efficient analytics

Mechanical design engineer job in Monroe, LA
DPR Construction is seeking a project engineer with 2+ years of commercial construction experience. The project engineer will work on commercial projects within our core markets: healthcare, higher education, advanced technology, life sciences and commercial. The project engineer will work closely with all members of the project team and will be responsible for the following:
Participation and application of DPR's Environmental Health and Safety Plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments including performing weekly safety audits.
Understanding and enforcement of contracts, including between DPR and subcontractors as well as DPR and the owner.
Assist the superintendent and project manager in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project.
Organizing the duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. This includes providing direction, prioritization, and performance feedback.
Participation in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the project team.
Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules. Working with the superintendent to reduce project constraints' impact on the schedule.
Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
Distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties.
Identifying, assembling, negotiating, and distributing change orders to both the owner and subcontractors.
Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and actions for various meetings including owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings.
Participating in project cost control. This includes maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to make sure changes are getting paid.
Preparing owner billing by assembling DPR costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner's requirements.
Monitoring testing and inspection record and reports, safety inspection and accident logs and reports, record building permit inspections and sign-offs.
Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a project engineer, preferably within DPR's core markets.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field.
A strong work ethic, a “can-do” attitude and a passion for construction.
