Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering or related field, with at least 5 years design experience.
Education and/or experience in gear design, suspension, sheet-metal & steering design preferred.
Knowledge and use of QA/QC inspection equipment, including basic measurement tools, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, dial indicators. 3D scan experience a plus.
Knowledge of Mechanical drafting standards, ANSI standards & document control.
3D Solid modeling experience, and/or SolidWorks experience required.
Product Development experience with a focus on automotive aftermarket products preferred.
Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
Strong organizational and communication skills, team orientated philosophy, and problem solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time while holding deadlines.
Must be Detail-Oriented and double check all work for accuracy and completeness.
Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, assembly tolerances & GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Understanding of design for manufacturing.
Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams required.
Extensive knowledge in Solidworks or similar 2D & 3D CAD systems. Solidworks PDM a plus.
Knowledge and experience with FEA or Simulation preferred.
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes
Understanding of metal production materials and heat treatment processes.
Understanding of the mechanical testing (hardness, metallurgy, tensile)
Experience with basic automotive hand tools and fitment testing methods.
Ability to interface with customers and suppliers.
Expected to adhere to safe work practices and general safety rules to ensure employee and customer safety and high quality of work.
Capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs; some physical activity required.

Job Description

SolidWorks 3Dmodeling, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD CD-Adapco), MS/Excel Spreadsheets, Minitab Statistical Analysis software experience is desired.

Key Responsibilities
Assist team with General Contract and Subcontract administration
