This position is responsible for providing technical oversight and coordination of laboratory testing activities for commercial and residential HVAC systems. The role serves as a critical technical resource for product engineering teams and provides guidance, instruction, and leadership to test engineers and technicians. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test Request Validation
Review incoming test requests for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility.
Confirm all required test parameters, equipment needs, and expected outcomes are clearly defined.
Stakeholder Communication
Engage with test request originators to clarify ambiguities or gather missing information.
Validate testing intent and expectations to minimize the risk of errors or misunderstandings.
Scheduling and Prioritization
Participate in test schedule meetings as the representative of the test engineering function.
Provide input on test feasibility, identify potential conflicts, and communicate resource constraints.
Test Setup Oversight
Support engineers and technicians in configuring equipment and instrumentation in accordance with test requirements.
Verify that setups align with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
In-Test Monitoring
Observe ongoing tests to ensure compliance with test plans, protocols, and key procedural steps.
Provide an additional level of review to reduce the risk of oversight or misinterpretation of requirements.
Procedure Development
Assist in developing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repeatable test setups and methodologies.
Collaborate with engineering and technical staff to formalize best practices and ensure consistency across tests.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform occasional testing activities, including data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and test result documentation.
Research and apply relevant industry standards for product testing.
Provide oversight and support for product safety certification testing.
Support third-party product testing related to research, benchmarking, and strategic initiatives.
Participate in annual offsite testing activities required for AHRI certification.
Mentor and train team members in all aspects of chamber testing.
Travel domestically up to 25% to support offsite testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor s degree in an engineering-related field preferred.
In-depth knowledge of AHRI 210/240 and AHRI 1230 test standards required.
Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and wiring schematics.
Experience troubleshooting complex electrical, electronic, and refrigerant-based systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain advanced technical concepts clearly.
Proficiency with specialized testing and diagnostic equipment.
Strong analytical mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,600 and $117,700/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

The Technical Service Advisor III is responsible for providing advanced technical support to contractors, distributors, architects, and engineers who are specifying, installing, operating, or repairing Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC (METUS) product. They will be knowledge experts of the METUS residential, light commercial, commercial, and controls equipment being serviced.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides technical information, support, and training to a large volume of general customers, METUS field personnel, and factory-trained Diamond Contractors via phone, email, and private forums.
Solves complex technical problems associated with METUS residential, commercial, and controls equipment, and all accessories.
Provides technical support and education on METUS controls systems and networks.
Provides product support for all new service-related tools.
Able to relay the basic concepts and principles such as AC/DC theory, inductance, and digital communications.
Reads and understands wiring schematics, refrigerant circuit diagrams, and computer programs to convey information to customers.
Participate in new product investigations with training department to understand technical support needs and develop support resources for department peers.
Assist in rework of product, when necessary, which includes factory software rewriting on all products.
Attends on-site advanced technical training events to increase product knowledge and support capabilities.
Facilitates technical training events when needed to support training schedule.
Provides internal training to Customer Care team members and fellow Technical Service Advisers.
Maintains and adjusts Knowledge Base Articles as needed.
Utilizes and maintains case information within CRM system.
Provides technical support for on-site facilities and training HVAC equipment.
Willing to travel up to 40% to for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally.

QUALIFICIATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent.
7 years field experience.
2 years of attendance of Air Conditioning / HVAC Program(s) at Technical College is preferred.
NATE Certified is preferred.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Spanish or any bilingual ability a plus.
Strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills, with an ability to translate complex thoughts and ideas and communicate them in an easy-to-understand form.

QUALIFICATIONS:
