Responsibilities
Provide mammography imaging services.
Operate equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Prepare and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Explain procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
Develop and evaluate the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s):
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following:
Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
One year of recent experience as a Mammographer strongly preferred.

Job Description
The MRI Technologist will:
* Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to generate information necessary for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients.
* Evaluates the request for radiographic service and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and method of application.
* Coordinates selection of appropriate scan parameters, including pulse sequences, by referring MRI protocols and/or the radiologist.
* Performs POC Creatinine testing prior to any contrast studies as warranted.
* Cares for the patient throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards of nursing care and age-specific sensitivities guidelines.
* Participates in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
* Evaluates images for comparison with section and industry standards and takes corrective action as needed to achieve and maintain standards.
* Provides patient education prior to, during, and subsequent to the procedure.
* Documents imaging procedures to ensure correct charging, and patient and film file tracking.
* Monitors supply in imaging rooms to assure availability by reordering, rotating dated items, and maintaining an orderly environment.

Operation of any computer equipment needed to take MRI scan.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Radiology and the technical direction of the Radiologists and the Lead MRI Technologist, performs professional duties as an MRI Technologist. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring special handling or unusual techniques to apply prescribed frequencies for Magnetic Resonance Imaging diagnoses in-patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatrics and encompassing the established factors. Manipulation of computer hardware and software required to create an adequate image. Maintain Magnetic Resonance Imaging services in accordance with standards established. Maintain the security and safety of the magnet.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operates the magnet properly and with care to ensure the production of a variety of quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations
* Performs MRI examinations in accordance with standards, techniques, and protocols established by the Radiologist to ensure quality standards are met.
* Positions and handles patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patients, and safety.
* Maintains an awareness of patient's physical and emotional condition, recognizes and reports adverse signs to the physicians.
* Assures proper patient identification on all films and complete all paperwork applicable to the examination, i.e. clinical information, history, financial data, insurance data and technical worksheet data, accurately in the abs assists in screening and scheduling of patients.
* Performs office procedure of clerical support personnel and assists other technologists and clinical personnel as needed.
* Screens MRI patients to assure that the patient does not have metal implants, pacemakers, or other metallic objects on their person; calls and instructs patients, and registers patients as needed.
* Remains abreast of new developments in the field of MRI technology.
* Reports immediately any malfunctions, necessary adjustments or repairs to manufacturer's service engineer.
* Monitors and operates the laser imaging equipment.
* Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies in the MRI area.
* Has knowledge of patient care and emergency care procedures to maintain a safe environment.
* Responsible for entering charges and completing all exams performed.
* Transmits images and documentation to PACS.
Job Specifications:
* High School diploma or GED required.
* Satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association counsel on Medical Education approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or a program dealing specifically with Magnetic Resonance Imaging required.

This position will travel to the following clinics: Chicago, Joliet, Oak Brook, Oak Park, Westchester, Naperville, and Munster, IN. The schedule is Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high quality images per physician's orders while providing excellent patient care.
