The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The incumbent must be able to provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees, prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to MRI safety. The Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.

The MRI/CT Technologist ER at Hospitality Health ER cares for all patients including neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. The MRI/CT Technologist will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity.
Responsibilities for the MRI/CT Technologist
Operating MRI equipment to capture diagnostic images of designated portions of patient body as prescribed by physician.
Addressing patient concerns during the procedures and explaining the MRI process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring.
Using tact, courtesy and poise when dealing with patients, keeping them calm and ensuring that they get the best care possible.
Screening patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
Maintaining patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the imaging table.
Preparing and positioning the patient for the MRI examination.
Obtaining the MRI data in a manner suitable for interpretation by the physician.
Performing frequent quality control testing in accordance with the MRI manufacturer's recommendations.
Viewing images of area being scanned to ensure quality of images.
Administering gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously.
Processing patient data into the computer such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, age, weight, and position of entry.
Performing equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems.
Maintaining a clean environment inside and outside of the MRI scan room.
Performing Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties.
Cooperating with facility healthcare personnel and complying with facility policies and procedure.
Not limited to working other modalities as needed.
Preparing and positioning patients on the exam table appropriately and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
Moves x‐ray equipment into specified position and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
Practices radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
Requirements and Qualifications for the MRI/CT Technologist

Maintaining current licensure and education requirements.
Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of department; position will require a minimum of two weekend shifts to be worked. A weekend is defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Able to work unsupervised; willingness to take an initiative and ability to work as a team member/independently to perform job responsibilities and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in computer applications, such an email and MS office, and office equipment.

Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or pre‐approved equivalent.

What does the CT-MRI Technologist do?
Under limited supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/MRI radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely reporting of results. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing efficient, quality-oriented patient care by producing quality diagnostic radiographs to assist medical personnel in patient diagnosis in a timely and professional manner when ordered by a physician, and effectively coordinating the process for ordering the procedure and transmitting the images to the radiologist. CT technologists, operate CT equipment, which produces cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. In addition to conducting scans, CT technologists prepare patients for these diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Current ARRT required.
* Current, valid, and active certification/licensure to practice as a Radiology Tech in the state of employment required.
* Completion of CT Technology certificate program required.
* Current BLS certification from a Vibra Travels approved vendor required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
* Two (2) years previous experience preferred.
* Hospital experience strongly preferred.
* Ability to project a professional image.
* Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
* Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
* Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
* Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
* Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and will help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The CT Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The CT Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience
1 year of CT experience in a Hospital or Clinical setting preferred
