Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized procedures within the EP lab. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating and troubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The EP Lab Tech plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized cardiac interventions.
Essential Work Functions:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Physicians' Clinic of Iowa is seeking a fulltime MRI Technologist to perform MRI clinical studies for our busy multi-specialty clinic.
This individual will perform MRI diagnostic imaging exams according to the established policies and procedures, methods and standards to provide quality patient care for all PCI specialties.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Maintain EHR documentation of examinations ordered and performed including proper pre-authorization and coding for reimbursement.
Patient exam preparation including interviewing and screening, intravenous access techniques, patient and family education, communication with referring physicians and radiologists. Additional clerical and transport functions as necessary.
Perform quality diagnostic CT and MRI exams as defined by established protocols and best practice guidelines.
Consult with interpreting radiologist and/or ordering provider when necessary. Secures previous relating exams for comparison.
Under the supervision of a physician, performs intravenous contrast injections hand techniques and power injector usage.
Proficient in exam archiving, exam navigation, exam exporting in multiple PACS programs.
Perform other patient care duties within the scope of practice and to the departmental standards including safety related work behaviors.
Performs and maintains quality assurance testing for daily equipment and accreditation compliance. Including ACR accreditation testing.
The qualified candidate should have the ability to perform all high modality imaging procedures, within their field of expertise, demonstrating a sound understanding of anatomical positioning and pathology with the technical expertise to select and modify the exam protocols or sequences to produce the optimal scan results.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork are needed to work effectively with patients, department team members and other PCI staff. Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work independently required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail with excellent computer skills also required.
Must be a graduate of an approved A.R.R.T. program with current A.R.R.T. (R) (MR) registration and Iowa Permit to Practice license in Radiography . Board certification MRI required. Minimum 2 years MRI technology clinical experience preferred. CPR certification required- ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence/Patient Care
* Performs careful and accurate work in any technical area as assigned.
* Performs procedural exams within specified turnaround time for assigned area and assures procedural exam guidelines are strictly adhered to, complies with exam procedure technical factors and protocols in consultation with radiologist.

They prepare patients for the procedure, position patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensure proper imaging protocols are followed, and work closely with radiologists to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. CT Techs also maintain equipment, keep patient records, and follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and provide compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
Essential Work Functions:
* Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
* Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
* Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
* Provide high-quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
* Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
* Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital's system
* Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
* Ability to adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
* Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice
Required Essential Skills:
* Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
* The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
* Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
* Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
* Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
* Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
* Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
* Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
