POSITION SUMMARY
The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist plays a key leadership role within our inpatient adolescent behavioral health program. This physician is responsible for psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic oversight for adolescent patients presenting with behavioral and psychiatric disorders. The psychiatrist functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate care for high-acuity behavioral health patients.
This role is ideal for a psychiatrist passionate about adolescent behavioral health, crisis stabilization, and therapeutic recovery in a structured inpatient environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESClinical Care
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adolescents with behavioral disorders, complex psychiatric diagnoses, and co-occurring medical or neurodevelopmental conditions.
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans focusing on stabilization, behavioral regulation, and therapeutic progression.

QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Completed ACGME-accredited residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Current Texas medical licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start).
Experience in inpatient child/adolescent behavioral health strongly preferred.

The Psychotherapist provides direct clinical services to adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric and medical needs through individual, group, and family psychotherapy. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to assess mental health needs, develop individualized treatment plans, support behavioral stabilization, and promote successful transition to the next level of care.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Treatment Planning
Develop, monitor, and document individualized mental health treatment goals as part of each patient's interdisciplinary treatment plan.

Present professionally when representing the hospital to families, referral sources, and community partners.
Staff Support & Education
Provide both formal and informal guidance to staff regarding de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and effective clinical strategies.

Program Development & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with emerging research and therapeutic best practices related to adolescent psychiatric and behavioral health care.

Job Description

Assists residents in purchasing appropriate amounts and types of food items as outlined by weekly menus.
Monitors and assists residents in preparing meals that have been planned.
Ensuring that an appropriate curriculum is facilitated to residents.
Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate classroom management.
Demonstrates knowledge of resident's deficits as it applies to a group function.
Ensures that residents participate appropriately in a group setting.
Delegating appropriate staff to assist in working with residents.
Reports daily progress to Program Directors.
Documents on resident's progress daily and services provided.
Demonstrates ability to evaluate resident's performance and deficits adequately.
ADL's Assistance: Assists residents in performing and completing ADLs as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of high-school degree or equivalent and 20 hours of college credits.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year of experience working with the Nexus Neurorecovery Center.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must be certified in AHA BLS and ABC 101
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record.
Must be knowledgeable of and practice infection control and Universal Precautions at all times.
Must obtain a tuberculosis test within the first 14 days of employment and annually after that.
Must pass a criminal background, misconduct registry, and OIG/GSA Sanction check.

Project Planning & Execution

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
• 3-5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, hospital operations, or regulated environments.
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.

Position Summary
