Position Overview
As a Robot Operator / Service Technician at Nextpower, you will play a pivotal role in the operation and maintenance of our advanced robotic systems deployed on solar sites. Key Responsibilities:
● Daily Robot Operation:
Remotely operate and monitor robotic systems deployed at solar sites, ensuring missions are completed accurately and efficiently.

General Description:
Depending on experience, responsibility may include:
Operating a CNC to set-up of metal cutting machine tools both manual and/or including mills and lathes. To be responsible for properly placing work pieces in the machines and completing the operations specified on the job travelers.
An ability to interpret blueprints and part specifications, knowing how to select the correct materials, tools and manufacturing for processes is a plus.
Knowledge of G-code programming formats is desirable for the II and III levels along with a good working knowledge of inspection equipment and capability in selecting the proper inspection tool to verify product conformity to specifications. Working knowledge of programming techniques both at the machine control and via CAD/CAM software.
An experienced CNC Machinist will assist in mentoring lower level machinists and take an active role in guiding the overall workflow of the department for maximum efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not an inclusive list - will vary according to position I, II or III):
Tend to one or more machine tools to machine metal and non-metal work pieces.
Complete routine machine maintenance.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Load parts in a CNC machining centers or manual machines as required.
Inspects and measures work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using standard measuring tools.
Reads blueprint and job traveler specifications to determine the proper tooling required to set up each operation.
Replace cutting tools as required to maintain part quality requirements
Modify programs as required to meet product conformity.
Maintain statistical reporting.
Retrieve and store programs to the database.

Capable of interpreting and editing CNC programs using Fanuc, Fadal, And Yasnac controls.

Modify programs as required to meet product conformity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Summary
The primary function of the Equipment Technician II to provide technical and advisory support for engineering laboratory equipment and student/faculty research projects and assist with demonstration equipment.

The incumbent is responsible for preparing equipment designs from oral directions or from discussions of what functions or processes are needed in relation to student, research, or instruction needs; developing unique equipment of a specialized nature to assist students and faculty; developing experimental models, systems and devices; repairs and maintains the most complex factory built or prototype equipment. Incumbent acts as a resource to faculty and students in developing equipment capability for research; develops models to demonstrate theoretical and practical engineering principles; develops plans, specifications, and construction drawings; acts as a resource to provide advice regarding suitable makes, models and accessories; adapts complex donated equipment or one-of-a-kind equipment for which there are no manuals or resources available to make it viable as instructional equipment. The incumbent performs highly skilled repairs in maintaining complex factory-built or custom engineering lab equipment, systems and devices. The incumbent develops plans, methods and techniques for analyzing and diagnosing equipment malfunctions. The incumbent serves as a consultant on special projects and provides the technical expertise needed to successfully complete the project. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D programming and multi axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) machining
Advanced knowledge of Lathe concepts including live tooling and dual spindle operations

Proficient knowledge of print reading, high tolerance machining and geometric dimensioning

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

2-year Machining Degree preferred
5 years' experience with Sac EDM or 7+ years of relevant machining experience (programming, setup, and running equipment) in a related industry

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc. and handle and feel parts of various size
Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout a shift

CNC Machinist will work on both CNC Mill and CNC Lathe work centers setting up and proving programs. The position is responsible for their assigned machine(s) from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials. The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating the machine effectively to ensure parts are being run efficiently and tolerances are to print. orders and replaces parts as needed for equipment repairs.
Essential Duties & Functions:
Completes all duties and responsibilities in adherence with Tri Tool's core values.
Operating CNC machining equipment to produce parts using blueprints provided with understanding of relation to GD&T.
Loading tooling for jobs and measuring tool length offset, making tooling boxes for jobs.
Inspect parts produced for accuracy, flaws, or areas of concern.
Communicate problems with work holding and programming to supervisor and machine programmer.
Communicate tooling needed with supervisor for upcoming jobs, design and produce fixturings for upcoming jobs.
Load and unload parts and materials per job requirement.
Blend and Deburr parts during cycle times
Monitor tooling and adjust as needed
Pro-actively monitor machine performance, trouble shoot errors or low performance output, monitor coolant and oil levels on machine and fill as needed
Programming of Mazatrol and/or G-code.
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with State, Federal, and Company safety regulations.
Effectively communicates with coworkers and managers to support efficient production.
Performs other work in related duties as assigned to ensure a highly maintained and safe department.
Work as part of the team to ensure productivity and cross train to other departments as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience responsible for full operational process. This includes the use of blueprints, measuring equipment, inspecting equipment, and lifting devices.
Must have strong math abilities, blueprint comprehension and verbal/written communication.
