Test and evaluate new processes to improve fabrication process

Perform quality control checks of jobs in process
Stage parts in a manner that is efficient for the next stage in the fabrication cycle

Perform all burning/cutting operations required to support fabrication requirements

In this role, you will be responsible for machining and manufacturing of product for customers in a cost-efficient manner while demonstrating the ability to be proficient in setting up and operating manual machine shop equipment.

The Estimator works from customer drawings and specifications in estimating the cost in manufacturing of machined parts, fabricated parts, and assemblies.
Machinists will lead the transition / change over between production runs on various CNC machines such as lathes and mills then operate selected machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality has been met.
Day Shift - M-F, 8-10 hours/ day
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist machine shop personnel in completion of assigned work.
Clean up and move production parts throughout the shop.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Measure and record values from parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment as needed.
Perform routine tooling and fixture changes on machines.
Select and use proper tooling for job based on information supplied.
Must also be able to translate blueprint for measurement purposes.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds, sit and stand for long periods.
Inspect to print.
Perform basic math calculations.
Work within tolerances greater than or equal to +/- 0.005

**Job Description**
Job Summary/Purpose The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for supporting production through the tooling process. As necessary, the CNC Machinist may engage in CNC programming practices to create and cut new tools for production.
Essential Duties
· Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files for making tools and dies
· Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces
· Set up, operate, and disassemble conventional, manual, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools · Test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications
· Monitor the feed and speed of the machines
· Operate CNC Lathes, Mills, and VMCs
· Measure, examine, and test completed tools and dies for defects
· Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies
· Clean through various processes; Ice blast, sand blast, and lathe
· Pull, stage, deliver tools to molding, and put away tools
· Present finished workpieces to production and make modifications if needed · Operate manual horizontal lathe machine for the purpose of polishing tools · Perform daily 5S duties · Other duties as assigned
