About the Role
We're looking for an experienced CNC Cylindrical Grinding Operator / Machinist to produce precision shafts, gear blanks, and assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. This hands-on role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining grinding equipment to achieve tight tolerances and exceptional surface finishes.
Key Responsibilities
Operate cylindrical grinding machines to manufacture precision components
Set up machines, dress wheels, and calibrate equipment to meet exacting tolerances
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, gauge blocks, and other precision tools
Maintain documentation of inspection results and address deviations promptly
Perform routine maintenance, wheel changes, and coolant system checks
Monitor machine performance, track hours, and support quality root-cause analysis
Adhere to AS9100 quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with production ramp-ups and schedule changes to meet critical deadlines
Qualifications
Prior experience in cylindrical grinding, ideally in aerospace or hardened shaft applications
Strong understanding of precision tolerances (± .0002”) and blueprint interpretation
Willing to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd shift; detail-oriented and quality-focused

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:-

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
Experience setting up and operating CNC machines to fabricate precision components. We welcome candidates of all experience levels to apply.
