Job Description/Duties:
Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and procedures.
Perform calculations to determine accurate setups and layouts for machining tasks.
Selects tooling, machine feeds and speeds, lubricants and fixtures.
Perform machining operations safely, adjusting as needed to maintain tight tolerances, ensure quality, and productivity standards.
Inspect workpieces to verify conformance with specifications using measuring instruments.
Perform over-inspections of work completed by other machinists per company procedures.
Monitor equipment performance and conduct or assist with routine maintenance and repairs.
Work with engineering staff to revise or improve procedures, drawings, and determine optimal equipment/tooling setups.
Maintain detailed and accurate records, logs, and documentation related to all work.
Utilize a range of manual and automated machinery, precision measuring tools, and hand tools efficiently and safely.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must also meet one (1) of the following training/experience requirements:
Must have successfully completed a Machining Diploma or an equivalent program from a recognized trade school or community college (minimum 2-year accredited program) by July 1, 2026.
Must have successfully graduated from the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Machining program and a preference for 2 years of Machining experience.
A State Certified Machinist Journeyman's Card is required. Applicant must provide a copy of the machinist journeyman's card.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing machining or tool making (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Military Service equivalent in pay grade E-6 or above. One or more of the following Navy Enlisted Classifications (NEC) or other service branch specific equivalent:
Machinery Repairman or service equivalent
U32A Computer NumericallyControlled Machinist
U33A NAMTS Inside Machinist
Successful candidates must meet the required WorkKeys assessment standards.
Must be highly motivated, with a focus on attention to detail.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

The starting rate for the position in Virginia is $33.76 per hour. Once all requirements are met, the rate is $41.24 per hour.
The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Scope:
Perform duties to set up punch press or laser punch / cutter to cut, contour or bevel specified metal sheets to defined specifications and set and operate a range of metal fabrication equipment to cut, notch and shape metal parts, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice.
Essential Duties:
Operate punch & laser working from job packets, job-specific cut sheet, bend list, material usage list, blueprints, quality checklist or drawings.
Punch Operation - Perform machine startup, determine die clearance for gauge of material. Change die tooling as needed. Select specific job and pack list, send from Network drive location to controller on punch. Read blank, check clamp settings (make adjustments as needed), place sheet metal in clamps (adjust as needed), set X-gauge block, zero metal into clamps and against X-gauge. Engage clamp, put X-gauge block down, hit start button. Once part is punched, remove sheet and separate parts.
Laser Operation - Perform machine startup and shutdown procedures on punch & fiber laser cutting equipment. Position work piece onto table or into fixture with crane, using vacuum system to hold piece in place. Layout cuts on computer and select lenses according to thickness and type of metal. Interpret job information to determine specific material requirements. Layout operations to maximize material utilization.
Label completed parts with appropriate part number. Remove chips and drop from parts and staging table. Determine sequence of operation for each process and edit program based on sequence. Rack and move pieces to staging area.
Verify conformance of first piece to specifications, using calipers, angles, square, ruler, gauges, and measuring tape. Gauge work pieces randomly through run to ensure maintenance of settings and make adjustments as necessary.
Adhere to Munters Quality System. Perform quality checks, complete check lists, verify counts, record time per job and ensure compliance with production schedules. Submit production documentation as required.
Stage completed parts for movement or move to subsequent operations to maintain work flow.
Maintain a clean and safe work area. Take responsibility for the physical inventory of materials. Request material reorders as necessary.

SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to operate and maintain all areas of production in the flour mill under the direction of the Head Miller/Shift Miller. In this role, you will help sustain Mennel's tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: This position works a 12-hour schedule that rotates days of the week, 7PM-7AM. You must be able to work weekends and potentially some holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
Coordinates with Head Miller/ Miller to process the transfer of all flour products per quality department and customer specifications.
Performs quality analysis and food safety checks for flour transfers.
Assists Head Miller/ Shift Miller with mill changes and daily operations.
Assists with mill equipment repairs and routine maintenance, as needed/required.
Maintains a clean and safe working environment by following SOPs and master sanitation schedule.
Attend all training sessions, as required.
Perform sampling and testing of wheat and water and make appropriate adjustments to wheat cleaning and tempering equipment to meet specifications and standards set by the Shift Miller.
Assist with training of Mill Utility personnel.
Responsible for performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the Head Miller/ Shift Miller in their absence.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read g-code program and compare with part drawing to prevent errors.
Observe machine control panel and compare with data on job documentation to verify proper process and adjust cutting speeds and feeds as necessary.
Provide information to make corrections to existing set-up sheets, programs, or processes.
Establish and adjust tool offsets and machine zero reference points as necessary.
Selection, measurement, use, and build of predefined tool assemblies.
Proper use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, and indicator.
Must keep assigned machine(s) and work area cleaned and neat.
Perform preventative machine maintenance.
Deburr/Part mark as needed.
Operation of multiple CNC machines may be required.

What you will do:
Operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts for electro-mechanical products. Tasks will include machining, welding, and inspection of subassemblies and assemblies as requested by your supervisor.

Physical Demands

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, employees will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. While all reasonable safety procedures are used, employee has to be comfortable in this environment. Employees will also be exposed to adhesive fumes, airborne particles and heat. While the work area is normally clean, safe and not loud there are machines making parts so some noise and metal flakes can be expected.

AMG, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our 1st shift machining team at our Jefferson Ridge Parkway location. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and inspecting CNC milling equipment to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce high-quality machined components.
* Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
* Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets as needed.
* Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
* Make basic program edits or adjustments to ensure part accuracy.
* Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain consistent part quality.
* Document production activities in accordance with company standards.
* Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area, following all safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum 3 years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environment.
* Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of GD&T.
* Proficiency with CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
* Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining best practices.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
* Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to producing quality parts.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with multi-axis milling equipment.
* Ability to program or modify CNC programs (CAM or at the machine).
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts.
* Must be 18 years of age and a U. S. Citizen.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Programs, sets-up, and operates press brake to form a variety of sheet metal and steel plate parts. Checks work to templates or drawings using scale, square, or other instruments to determine conformity.
Reads, understands, and follows work orders, blueprints, and measuring apparatus.
Evaluates job write-ups to ensure that parts are formed in the correct order.
Correctly positions part on die.
Checks parts to ensure machine is running correctly using various measuring tools.
Uses forklift to pull jobs for forming.
Ensures that safety equipment is working and adjustments are made as required.
Requirements
HS diploma or GED.
Ability to wear various forms of PPE.
3 years of experience highly preferred.
Ability to use 8-axis Amada Brake with 3D AMNCPC control.
Proficient in math and skilled with multiple types of measuring devices.
Ability to frequently lift/carry 51 - 100 lb.
Ability to frequently push/ pull 41 - 100 lb.
Computer Skills - Ability to use MS Suite.
Certification, Licensure - Forklift operator.
Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
