JOB SUMMARY
The Mill Operator II is responsible for maintaining safe and effective operations within their area of responsibility in the Mill Department. They will work with the Operator I and Utilities to accomplish assigned tasks throughout their shift.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist the Operator I to ensure department and shift objectives are accomplished
Monitor assigned department processes via D/3 computer system
Inspect equipment in the field, troubleshooting as necessary to maintain production objectives
Perform daily and assigned housekeeping responsibilities
Perform lock outs on assigned equipment
Retrieve samples from the field
Perform environmental verifications and record as needed
Basic oil and greasing of equipment
Train employees new to position
Operate mechanized equipment
Perform minor maintenance on equipment
Assist in the review and creations of SOPs
Completes all required documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
Informs supervisor and affected personnel immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts
Follow standard operating procedures, temporary work instructions, and process plans
Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
Other similar duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong experience in manufacturing processes and engineering principles, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production capabilities, ensure quality standards, and implement innovative solutions within our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
* Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
* Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in production and implement corrective actions.
* Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo for designing and modifying schematics and tooling.
* Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotics for automated systems.
* Oversee plastics injection molding processes, ensuring quality control and adherence to specifications.
* Collaborate with the assembly line team to enhance workflow and productivity.
* Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce costs.
* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and CAM programming.
* Provide mechanical knowledge for the fabrication of components and tooling used in production.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with factory experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of CNC programming, welding techniques, and vision inspection systems.
* Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
* Experience in project scheduling and managing multiple tasks effectively.
* Proficiency in robot programming for automation applications.

Do you have the desire to be a CNC machinist and need the opportunity to learn? Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL is looking to hire entry level machining trainees.
The Machining Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in machining. Positions available on 3rd shift after 4 - 6 weeks of training.
Upon completion of the program, individuals will be able to:
Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines used to produce high precision parts
Read blueprints & drawings to determine product dimensions and tolerances
Verify conformity of part to specification using measurements instruments such as micrometers or calipers
Accurately apply intermediate mathematical skill, including geometry, trigonometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversion of fractions and decimals
Ability to determine feed, speeds, and select tooling.
Basic Qualifications
Previous troubleshooting and equipment repair experience with agricultural, automotive, industrial, or military equipment.
Top Candidates will also have
Previous CNC training or experience
High mechanical aptitude
Excellent attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work any shift
Additional Information:
Pay is $23.22 hr
3rd shift position (10:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
This position does not offer relocation
This position requires no travel
This is a supplemental position - 40 hrs or more with limited benefits
