The OccupationalTherapist assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitation programs to restore or improve function in activities of daily living, functional mobility, cognitive tasks, strength, coordination, and range of motion in patients affected by disease or injury. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Treatment Planning and Provision of Care:
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans.
Select appropriate treatment activities to help patients progress toward goals.
Revise goals and treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
Provide ongoing education and training to patients and families.
Offer discharge instructions, follow-up care, and referrals to community resources as needed.
Serve as a resource for staff, families, and physicians on rehabilitation services and equipment.
Patient Assessment:
Collaborate with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, plans of care, goals, and discharge plans.
Develop a plan of care in partnership with the patient and/or family members.
Create a realistic discharge plan incorporating the goals of the patient and/or family.
Documentation:
Document evaluations and treatment plans according to departmental guidelines.
Record each treatment session following departmental protocols.
Complete and submit family education, discharge, and other required documentation within facility and program guidelines.

Educate patients and caregivers on the patient condition, limitations, precautions, and realistic outcome expectations from the physical therapy plan of care
Implement plan of treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust schedule and plan according to patient progress
Collaborate with other providers such as physicians, physician assistants, occupationaltherapists, physical therapist assistants and other physical therapists for the benefit of the patient's care

About the Role:
This position is based at our Sandy Springs office, where you'll treat a primarily workers' compensation and personal injury population, along with general orthopedic cases.
The current team includes 13 OccupationalTherapists and across the system, with 1 OT currently at this location with room to expand to 1.5-2 FTEs due to strong patient demand.
You'll typically see 10-12 patients per day, focusing mostly on hands and elbows, with a mix of post-operative and chronic cases.
Many of our OTs also fabricate custom splints onsite.
Documentation and scheduling are managed in Athena.
Collaboration:
You'll work closely with Physical Therapists to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions for shared patients. Co-treatment occurs as needed, with each discipline completing its own evaluation and documentation.
Requirements:
