Responsibilities
Certified Surgical Techs (CST) scrub in on orthopedic, spine, urology, and pain management cases. CST job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all instruments, equipment, and supplies necessary are present and sterile for procedures.
Assist the physician and occasionally an RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Perform specimen reconciliation and care.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructors provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to their students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by course curricula and successfully meet course objectives. Instructors may be required to evaluate students' performance by verifying their understanding of the course material, the competency of learned skills, and their ability to demonstrate applied knowledge. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Preparing classroom or training areas and pick-up and return of training devices, as needed.
* Performing basic maintenance on training aids and/or equipment as needed.
* Preparing and conducting to College instructional standards classroom, laboratory, seminar, conference, discussion, lecture, demonstration, and practical exercises per class training schedule.
* Supplementing the course curriculum and lesson plans by incorporating lessons learned from specific/relevant training and after-action reviews, doctrine, and current and evolving Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) into the daily instruction.
* Being available for occasional course classes held in the local area.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Required Education
Tier I:
* Maryland EMT in good standing
* AHA BLS certification
* MFRI or Pro-Board Instructor III; has completed MICRB skills weekend
Tier II & Tier III:
* Maryland EMT in good standing
* Current AHA BLS certification
* MICRB III certification in BLS
Required Experience
Tier I instructors must be a Maryland EMT in good standing with BLS experience.
Tier II instructor requirements include those of Tier I, plus a minimum of three years of demonstrated BLS experience and one or more years of instruction experience, delivering primary content, skills instruction, evaluation, and remediation.
Tier III instructor requirements include those of Tier I & Tier II, plus the ability to demonstrate specialized training for contract training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Tier II & Tier III instructors must have knowledge of instructional methods.

Schedule varies, based on teaching assignments.
