As a EMT Ground Transport, you need to know how to: Obtains patients vital signs to include blood pressure, pulse and temperature and understands normal ranges and changes. Informs RNs or Physician of changes in vital signs Works with EMT or Paramedic partner to provide safe transport of patients between hospital and receiving facility. Effective interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication Conducts an inspection of ambulance and equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure ability to care for patients Establishes and maintains effective radio communication with HELP Flight dispatch and other agencies Initiates department standing orders in appropriate patients. Performs basic airway techniques including oxygen therapy.
