As a PRN EMT, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Maryville, TN. The scheduled hours are as needed to cover day, night and weekend shifts.
Advanced EMT Certification strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury, establishes priorities, and administers initial treatment at the scene to stabilize patient until higher level of health care is provided
Observes, records, and reports patient condition and treatments to provider
Communicates with medical personnel and stays updated on treatment techniques and protocols
Conducts safety inspections, prepares reports, and maintains records
Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
Current, unencumbered EMT Certification as defined within the state in which work will be performed
Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
At least three years of experience as an EMT with an ambulance/EMS service

Essential Functions

Assists the surgical team during the operative procedure. Assists in maintaining correct count of instruments, needles and sponges. Identifies and cares for specimens. Handles drugs and solutions under direction of the RN.
Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and terminally clean at the end of the day. Returns unused supplies and instruments and extra equipment to proper storage.
Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitor situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Takes action to correct.
Models Prisma Health behavior expectations. Assists with coaching, mentoring and training coworkers as assigned. Trains and assists with integration of new team members. Shares knowledge, ideas and expertise to support the team and the department.

Pass instruments and sutures as surgeon needs them.
Personally responsible for handling off specimens to the circulating nurse with correct, accurate labeling of specimen.
After dressing is in place, request permission to break from the anesthesiologist/anesthetist.
Washes hands thoroughly between patients and whenever necessary.
B. Assists in clean-up of room between cases and at the end of daily schedule which includes
the following:
bagging of soiled disposable items.
disposing of soiled gloves and debris.
transporting soiled instruments to the workroom (according to procedure).
Assists in weekly and daily cleaning and restocking on the operatingroom as assigned.
Is responsible for knowing and following procedures as established in the operatingroom (by reading the Policy and Procedure Manual).
Responsible for observing and reporting breaks in sterile surgical procedure.
Responsible for emptying all linen and trash from operatingrooms between cases.
Assists Clinical Nurse Manager and Purchasing with inventory specific to the operatingroom. Identifies needs and lists for Purchasing.
Assists in turning and positioning of anesthetized patients and moving patients to and from the operatingroom tables.
Wet mop floors and assists with general clean-up between cases to expedite the surgery schedule.
Assist with prepping of surgical site when needed. Assists with pulling of cases and cleaning of instruments as needed.
Assists with obtaining special instruments, sets and equipment as necessary from off-site locations. Assists with tracking equipment and instruments that have been loaned or barrowed.
Assist with the training of new employees through mentoring to ensure that all new OR technicians are adequately prepared to assist on the surgical procedures that are performed at the Center.

Vital Medical Transport is looking for EMTs and AEMTs for our new Knoxville division. We are looking for both Full-time and Part-time employees. We provide a competitive Compensation and Benefits Package.
EMTs and AEMTs provide basic emergency and non-emergency paramedical care to the ill and injured. EMTs respond to emergency calls, perform medical services and transport patients to medical facilities and continue to give care as necessary during the transport of the patient to the hospital.
EMTs must perform their duties in a calm, reassuring and efficient manner. They must be able to maintain their composure in extremely stressful situations in order to assess medical situations and perform emergency lifesaving procedures according to the methods in which they've received training.

What You'll Do
As an EMT (Physician Substitute), you will be a key member of the site's lean team, responsible for donor health and safety and a critical part of the donor experience. You'll work collaboratively with center staff to create a positive environment for the team and our donors. Key Responsibilities
Monitor donor eligibility and safety; perform health screenings and physical exams
Respond to donor reactions and provide care as needed
Work collaboratively with all center staff
Manage health logs and test results with clinical oversight
Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and compliant
Beyond your core responsibilities, you will be fully cross trained in all center functions including phlebotomy, processing bottles, and station installation

Required Qualifications
At least 18 years old
High school diploma, GED equivalent, or higher education
Certified/licensed EMT (Advanced or Basic) in the state of employment
For EMT-Bs, 1+ year of work experience
Current BLS or CPR certification

Ability to work weekends, regularly or as needed

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
Responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing first aid and/or basic lifesaving treatment to guests and employees when required, within limits of certification and arranging transport when necessary
Provide and maintain service standards to guests and employees as set by department SOP
Work closely with surveillance and security

Patrol parking lot/garage and report unsafe conditions
Patrol all BOH, FOH areas and report unsafe conditions
Enter work orders for observable hazard repair
Responsible for filing reports on safety, OSHA, and any other incident of liability
Responsible for collection, logging, and destruction of found medications
Complete all required checklists for inventory and inspections of supplies and equipment
Notifies a risk management supervisor of any problems with equipment or low inventory
Conduct oneself professionally and in accordance with all property regulations
Responsible for inspections and proper storage of department EMS equipment (oxygen tanks, AEDs, etc.)
Disinfects and maintains cleanliness of EMS equipment, supplies and treatment areas per the daily assignments
Maintain an inventory of medical supplies used to ensure departmental medical supply needs are met
Check and replace full sharps containers located throughout the property
Recommend to guests/employees to seek medical treatment by a physician and/or medical facility if necessary
Will not recommend treatments or medications to guests or employees
Complete all duty-associated documents in a complete and timely manner
Demonstrate proficiency in report writing and thorough documentation of medical calls
Collect evidence, documentation, and information necessary for associated reports
Investigate and coordinate all fact-finding activities for employee injuries, customer injury or loss, and all property damage and loss incidents
Provide property leaders at all levels assistance to provide a safe and productive environment for associates
Active member of the safety team
Assist with red light, vehicle incidents with potential injury, domestic altercations and report suspicious activity
Complete employee drug tests when necessary
Assist with employee evaluation for suspected intoxicant
Responsible for Biohazard disposal (cards, dice, sharps)
Represent Harrah's Cherokee Casinos to external organizations, peers, and employees when necessary
Attend con-ed training through Tribal EMS each quarter or as needed
Required to have the ability to perform all the duties of an Emergency First Responder in addition to tasks that are assigned by the risk management leadership or EMS

Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
Proactive with incidents and issues ensuring resolution with employees or guests
Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license required with no more than one (1) DUI convictions or 3 or more moving violations, 3 or more traffic citation convictions in the past 3 years (from date of conviction) or conviction for suspension or conviction for at fault accident within the last 3 years required
Certified as an EMT (or higher) through the state of North Carolina or National Registry required
Current CPR/AED certification required
Successful completion of the Security Basic Officer Course required*
Six months to one-year previous customer experience preferred
Three months previous experience as a First Responder, EMT or higher preferred
Six months to one year experience in insurance, loss control & safety or related field preferred
*Can be completed within six months of hire date
Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
Must be able to read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials and SOP information
