The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) I supports the mission, goals and strategic plan of Nevada Donor Network, Inc. (NDN) by providing clinical support to facilitate safe, efficient procurement of organs. The SRC I position has on-call responsibilities under the Manager of Surgical Recovery Services. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs responsibilities of position and promotes teamwork and a professional working environment. Takes 24-hour call to be available for activity associated with organ donation, remaining within a radius to assure that response to all calls occurs in a timely fashion. Participates in clinical screening and evaluation to determine donor suitability as part of the Tripod team. Participates in educational presentations. Inspects, disassembles, sorts, cleans, and processes reusable instrumentation and equipment. Also make certain that the corresponding biological testing relating to these machines is accurate and complete. Coordinates with surgery staff to acquire supplies in a timely manner. Utilizes the Fax Machine Actively participates in Shared Governance. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The Surgical Technologist position provides patient care of technical nature. The technologist is responsible for supplying the operating room with the proper equipment and instrumentation that's needed for specific surgery. During the procedure the primary responsibilities of the technologist is to maintain the sterility of the surgical field, to anticipate the needs of the surgeons, passing instruments in a timely fashion. Under direct supervision the technologist may be asked to perform the following duties such as, but not limited to: Sponge or suction, hold retractors or instrument placed by the surgeons, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, irrigation to the operative sight, cuts suture material, connects drains to the suction apparatus, applies dressings to the wound.
