This CVOR Scrub Tech opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and convenient flexiible schedule. This dynamic individual will assist
surgeon during operative and invasive procedures in the Operating Room and Pain Center. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and Pain management supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments used in the OR and Pain Center. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure, or all anticipated endoscopes, instruments, supplies and equipment of each individual procedure
Accurately completes operating room counts (instruments, sponges, sharps); follows proper procedure in the event of incorrect count; reports all discrepancies to Circulating RN and surgeon and/or corrects immediately
Carries out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures
Sets up, scrubs and prepares for procedures at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled time, unless otherwise directed by Circulating RN, Charge Nurse or Director.

The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) I supports the mission, goals and strategic plan of Nevada Donor Network, Inc. (NDN) by providing clinical support to facilitate safe, efficient procurement of organs. The SRC I position has on-call responsibilities under the Manager of Surgical Recovery Services.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs responsibilities of position and promotes teamwork and a professional working environment.
Takes 24-hour call to be available for activity associated with organ donation, remaining within a radius to assure that response to all calls occurs in a timely fashion.
Participates in clinical screening and evaluation to determine donor suitability as part of the Tripod team.
Participates in educational presentations.
Maintains confidentiality on all donor-related activities and internal issues.
Possesses basic knowledge of donor medical requirements and contraindications to recovery and transplantation.
Coordinates and communicates with transplant centers during kidney allocation.
Recovery blood/tissue specimens needed for tissue typing.
Serves as first assist to visiting and local surgeons.
Coordinates visiting transplant teams in the operating room with recovery and preservation of organs for transplantation and research.
Provides organ preservation maintaining flush amounts and medicinal additives.
Packages and labels the organ(s) procured.
Coordinates and/or facilitates the transportation of organs to the local transplant hospital and/or to the NDN Perfusion Lab Facility.
Procures, preserves, and allocates organ(s)/tissues for research following researcher criteria and procedures.
Coordinates and communicates with ancillary services regarding recovery activity and timeframes.
Maintain complete clinical records of donor recoveries to ensure quality.
Maintains possession and ensures routine maintenance for assigned organ department equipment and supplies.
Maintains an adequate inventory of all supplies and medications.
Operates kidney preservation machine efficiently, assess organ function based on providing organ viability feedback to transplant center clinical personnel to optimize organ preservation technique. Maintaining accurate record of kidney function and disposition.
Maintenance of the perfusion laboratory.
Maintains current knowledge of all NDN, AOPO, CMS and OPTN policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as requested by Manager of Surgical Services, Director of Organ, VP of Clinical Affairs and/or the NDN Medical Director.

Education: Bachelor's degree, Surgical Tech, Scrub Technician or related field or applicable experience required

What would you do in this role?
You'll be a vital part of the surgical team, ensuring operating rooms are ready and procedures run smoothly. You'll prepare case carts, set up sterile fields, and assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating their needs during surgery. You'll help maintain a sterile environment, manage surgical supplies, and support patient transfers. It's a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced settings, values precision, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care.
Responsibilities
· Prepare case carts for the next day's surgery schedule, following the surgeon's preference cards, noting on case cart if an item is missing and communicating with Materials Manager or supervisor;
· Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure and holding retractors or instruments as directed by the surgeon;
· Demonstrate the proper use of sterile technique and monitor for breaches in sterile technique;
· Perform proper handling and care of instruments, tray preparation and special procedure items, ensuring that the proper supplies, instruments and functioning equipment are available for the procedure;
· Inspect and perform maintenance on instruments and equipment for proper functioning, missing parts, and items in need of repair and report issues to Manager;
· Assist other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room and preparation of OR for next patient;
· Perform initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator;
· Assist the team members with gowning and gloving, draping the patient, and establishing the sterile field;
· Assist with decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices and initiate case carts for Surgical Services;
· Monitor use of and charge for all supplies used during procedure;
· Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies used and store and restock shelves, carts and areas as needed;
· Assist in transferring patients from bed to stretcher and vice versa as needed;
· Non-Certified Surgical Technologists are required to complete 15 Continuing Education Units (CEU) per year and report those units to leadership.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Certifications/Education
o High School Diploma/GED;
o Certificate or Associate's degree in Surgical Technology OR one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
· Knowledge of:
o Sterile technique and procedure;
o Surgical instrumentation including sterile processing;
o Anatomy and physiology.
Preferred Qualifications
· One year of orthopedic surgical technologist experience.
Travel:
