PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.

Responsibilities Include:
Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon developing knowledge of potential hazards, industry regulations/requirements and company practices.
Commissioning new transmission substation equipment prior to it being released to transmission operations.
Developing check-out guides, review and approving test results and isolation plans, and developing energization plans to minimize system risk.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizen between the ages of 19 and 29. Exceptions may be possible up to age 40.
Graduate or current student pursuing a B.A., B.S. or M.S. (preferably major in mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry or other technical areas).
Those still in school may apply as early as 18 months from completion of an undergraduate degree for Naval Reactors Engineers.
Applicants may also join the NUPOC program as early as 12 months from completion of a master's degree.
Additional academic requirements include:
Completed one academic year of calculus

A competitive GPA and a minimum grade of "B" in all technical courses

Qualifications

Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities
Produce 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks mechanical and/or electrical designs and drawings, layouts, P&ID's, flow sheets, equipment stack-ups, isometric drawings and bill of materials based on written and/or verbal instructions;
Complete drawings, datasheets, and manuals in metric and imperial system;
Ensure that equipment and system designs and drawings are delivered according to given timeframe, customer specification and industry standards as described in the contract agreement;

What You'll Do
You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.
* Design mechanical systems including water, chilled water, HVAC, wastewater, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam, hot water, compressed air, and plumbing for manufacturing, distribution, and industrial and commercial facilities
* Work with multidisciplinary project teams and interface with on-site project teams
* Complete calculations, develop specifications, and oversee mechanical design
* Handle equipment sizing, hydronic piping system design and selection of mechanical equipment in collaboration with vendors
* Inspect installations and perform site audits
* Seal engineering documents
* Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
What You'll Bring
* A minimum of eight years of experience executing mechanical design on multi-disciplinary projects
* The ability to complete mechanical system analysis, sizing, design, and report writing
* Experience in the mechanical design elements of manufacturing and distribution facilities for the food, beverage, dairy, or consumer products industries (preferred)
* Experience in the design of advanced technologies, life sciences, or facility/building mechanical systems including HVAC (air handling units, chemical and laminar fume hoods, unit heaters/coolers), water, chilled water/glycol, wastewater, cold/warm rooms, clean rooms, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam/condensate, hot water, hydronic, compressed gases, or waste/drain (preferred)
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
* Revit experience (preferred)
* Experience in refrigeration system design (preferred)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with our team members and clients

Program Overview
The JGM Engineering Graduate Rotational Program is a comprehensive 18-month initiative designed to provide recent engineering graduates with hands-on experience and a strong foundation to launch their careers within the structural steel industry.
Fabrication Track
For those hired into the Associate Fabrication Engineer - Early Career Rotational Program, participants will rotate through three key functional areas within JGM's fabrication operations: Shop Floor Operations, Production Control, and Estimating/Purchasing. This track is designed to build a deep understanding of fabrication processes, operational flow, and the commercial components of the business. Through structured rotations and hands-on learning under the guidance of experienced industry professionals, participants will be prepared for future leadership roles on the fabrication side of the business.
Construction Track
For those hired into the Associate Project Engineer - Early Career Rotational Program, participants will rotate through three core areas within JGM's construction operations: Estimating, Project Management, and Construction. This track focuses on developing practical field and project-based experience while exposing participants to the full lifecycle of industrial construction projects. The program is structured to prepare participants for long-term growth and leadership roles on the construction side of the business.
Rotations will occur across the departments outlined below and are not necessarily completed in the order listed.

Associate Fabrication Engineer - Early Career Rotational Program

Rotation 1: Shop Floor Engineer (6 Months)
Supervisor: Plant Superintendent
Objective:
Learn fabrication processes by working directly on the shop floor with welders, fitters, and machinists.
Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor safety, quality, and productivity on fabrication lines.
