PURPOSE OF POSITION Reporting directly to the Department Supervisor, the Shipping Material Handler is responsible to keep yard and other storage locations in order, along with shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks. Task and Responsibilities: Transport product between buildings. Keep shipping areas organized, clean, and free of clutter; maintain clear aisles. Load and unload trucks by forklift. Verify accuracy of shipments (Part #, Serial #, Quantities, Weights, etc.). Pick orders by referencing Plant Backlog. Move incoming material to designated departments, or warehouse location. Perform all other duties assigned by lead, coordinator or supervisor; i.e. sweep, empty trash, break down cardboard, sort skids, repackage/stage material for shipment, etc. Organize and store or dispose of barrels, skids and other items that clutter outside of building. Pull and store finished goods and maintain finished goods. Comply with the Company's safety policies and procedures. Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies. Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies) High School graduate or GED preferred; or One to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred. Experience with measuring tools preferred. Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals. The North America team is currently looking for a Material Handler on 2nd shift to join our Taylorville, IL facility. The Material Handler receives, stores, distributes and loads/unloads material, tools, equipment, and products within the plant, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Your Impact Utilize forklift to receive, store, or distribute material, tools, equipment, and products and follow required safety and workplace procedures. Utilize forklift to load finished goods onto van/flatbed trailer. Utilize forklift to unload steel trucks after hours Reports orders according to cell job list. Prepare orders according to order and pallet requirements with an understanding of the Receiving/FAB/Vendor Warehouse layout. Create barcodes for part identification and accurately scan inventory in and out of the plant using the Harvest system and handheld scanners.
