SUMMARY
Supplies and removes inventory to and from work cells in order to keep production operators working in an efficient manner. Assists the value stream leader in maintaining an organized and accurate inventory.

Responsibilities
The Material Handler performs daily distribution yard activities for a facility. Perform distribution-related functions (receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads). Operate forklift. Ensure load matches order prior to vehicle exiting yard. Perform customer service activities. Material Handlers have broad in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Possess alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation. Material Handlers demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work related instructions. Working Conditions are in a warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Will perform duties in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material products and engineered wood products a plus. Ability to understand and measure lengths of material required. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, and/or knowledge of warehouse work environment preferred.

Job Description
The Cylinder Loader position is responsible for loading and unloading of welding cylinder trucks, cleaning, painting, and maintaining cylinders, moving trucks within the yard, verifying cylinder counts, nesting cylinders on the dock, in the fill room and the maintenance room. Housekeeping in all areas including where the trucks are parked.
Job Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading cylinders on trucks.
Moving cylinders on dock and in fill room as directed.
Rolling cylinders.
Use of various hand trucks on cylinders.
Carrying by hand certain cylinders, heavy lifting required.
Securing cylinders on truck.
Nesting cylinders on dock and in fill plant.
Storing cylinders in designated areas.
Verify number and type of cylinders on truck with manifest.
Report discrepancies to dispatcher.
Cylinder maintenance.
Shot blasting and painting of cylinders.
Cleaning and degreasing of cylinders.
Be back up for cylinder valve maintenance.
Drive trucks within yard.
Safely maneuver and backup trucks.
Fuel trucks and check fluid levels.
Report any mechanical problems to dispatcher
Job Accountabilities:
Accurately identify all types and sizes of gas cylinders.
Accurately load and check-in gas cylinders on trucks.
Assist in accurately preparing shipping papers (manifest) for next day's deliveries.
Must remain on-site, as a team, until all work is completed correctly. Cannot leave at the end of the workday until the manager on duty authorizes it is okay to leave as a group.
Perform duties safely and maintain excellent safety record.
Attend & participate in monthly Safety Training.
Maintain excellent attendance record.
Safely maneuver trucks in yard & safely backup to the dock.
Be self-motivated and able to prioritize work so as to complete task in an acceptable timeframe.
