Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $33.400 - $41.740 - $46.760

What You Will Do
Performs individualized nursing care for patients/families under the direction of an RN. Uses and practices basic assessment data collection, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the LVN procedures and contributes to evaluation of outcomes. Communicates to ensure employee is educated appropriately.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
2 Years As an LVN.
1 Year Experience in outpatient area.
Vocational Nurse IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification - Various-Employee provides certificate - PREFERRED
Essential Functions
Clinical competency
Maintains credentials to perform within current practice standards.
Performs basic nursing skills in a competent manner.
Administers immunizations correctly taking into consideration age, dose, route, frequency and contraindications.
Administer and read TB skin tests accurately per Sharp policy.
Performs patient care in an organized, accountable manner.
Maintain LVN license and CPR certification.
Clinical operations
Keeps work area clean.
Stocks and maintains adequate supplies.
Keeps equipment in good working order.
Refrigerator/freezer temperatures are checked & logged twice daily.
Check for expiration dates on supplies, vaccines, and medication. Places order when low.
Expiring unopened Meds must be returned to pharmacy 6 months prior to the expiration date.
Place UDS & Log in Quest box at end of day for pick up.
Department competency
Demonstrates understanding of employee occupational health issues, current practices.
Participate in a minimum of 1 educational program or in-service per year on a subject pertinent to employee occupational health.
Documentation
Accurately documents on appropriate forms in a timely manner and is attentive to detail: Immunizations TB skin testing Urine Drug Screen COC Reasonable Suspicion Accurately documents in electronic health record. Follows workflow for documentation. Ensures compliance activities are documented. Correct audits in EHR when received.
Patient advocate
Demonstrates knowledge of the patient\'s rights.
Communicates client\'s needs and concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Extends courtesy and congeniality to clients, and safeguards their comfort.
Ensures confidentiality and adheres to the privacy act.
Notifies supervisor/manager of problem situations.
Patient assessment
Obtains accurate employee history to contribute to NP\'s assessment.
Completes visual acuity, blood pressure, weight, urine drug screen on New Hire candidate keeping to appointment schedule 80-90% of the time.
Collects urine drug screens following chain of custody procedure consistently. Recognizes and reports any abnormal findings to NP promptly.
Seeks assistance of NP to problem solve conditions/situations that are new, unfamiliar, or unusual.
Training and education
Provides health teaching to employees regarding TB skin testing, immunizations and communicable diseases.
Refers employee\'s questions and concerns to nurse practitioner if unable to adequately answer.
