Under the guidance of the Director of Rehab Medicine, the Clinical Coordinator, and the PhysicalTherapists, the PhysicalTherapistAssistant is responsible for treatment of patients following disability, injury, disease or amputation, to help attain a maximum level of independence and performance. The PTA follows the treatment plans as established by the PhysicalTherapist and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient's physician and supervision of the PhysicalTherapist. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. He/she is responsible for documentation and communication of all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The PTA is responsible for care of patients in all patient care areas of OSU Medical Center, as situation requires. The PTA must follow standards of performance for PhysicalTherapistAssistants as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.

At Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals, patients receive acute care from a physician-led care team specializing in treating patients with complex conditions. Our attending physicians see their patients every day, and physicians with specialties in pulmonology, cardiology, infectious disease, and general surgery may also participate in your care. Our nurses are also experienced in treating complex conditions, and all nurses in high-acuity units are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Additionally, patients with serious respiratory illnesses have 24/7 access to a respiratory therapist.

What we're looking for
A compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and in accordance with physician direction, the COTA will deliver high-quality, individualized occupational therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients recovering from illness or injury. This role involves implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting outcomes, and collaborating with healthcare staff to promote optimal recovery. The ideal candidate is licensed/certified in the state, holds current BLS/CPR certification, and preferably has prior patient care experience.
