Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy provides Speech Therapy (ST), Feeding Therapy (FT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT) services for patients from birth to age 20. Our setting is highly collaborative, fun, and sensory-focused. Therapists can easily incorporate movement and sensory activities into their sessions using our dynamic therapy gym and facilities, enhancing the treatment experience for our young patients.
The qualified applicant will provide individual client services and determine priority needs for occupational therapy by:
Demonstrating and articulating sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation of patient's progress.
Effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to meet patient's goals.
Monitoring patients' performance in therapy activities, home programs, and provide support and encouragement.
Assisting in instructing patients and families in home programs, daily living skills, sensory processing, visual tracking, motor coordination, fine motor skills, and/or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
Observing and recording patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
Maintaining documentation of progress, observations, treatment and complete progress notes for each client.
Assisting occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans.

Complying with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Work under the direction of an occupational therapist to plan, implement, or administer programs to restore or enhance performance in children with functional impairments.
Have knowledge and practice with developmental disorders including, but not limited to, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Intellectual Impairment, etc.
Demonstrate the knowledge of motor coordination, sensory integration techniques, how to facilitate appropriate and functional muscle movement, how to promote better handwriting and fine motor skills, familiarity with self-regulation skills, ADL skills, and utilizing adaptive equipment, etc.
