Job Description * Patient Treatment: Provide therapeutic treatment to patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. * Documentation: Accurately record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board requirements. * Treatment Compliance: Ensure treatment is consistent with the physician's treatment plan. * Training Support: Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides. * Communication: Effectively communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans. * In-Service Training: Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff. * Documentation Requirements: Maintain evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation in compliance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and third-party payer requirements. * Policy Adherence: Document treatment changes according to facility policies and procedures. * Family and Staff Instruction: Instruct patients' families and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services; take part in discharge planning. * Cleaning and Maintenance: Help with the cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas. * Equipment Monitoring: Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it functions properly. * Interpersonal Skills: Build effective and positive relationships with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
