Creates and maintains files in an organized manner, to include sorting, labeling, filing and retrieving. Maintains confidentiality and security of records. + Communicates effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and visitors, particularly in situations requiring tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment. This includes giving information, instructions and directions in accordance with policy and procedure. + Conducts counts of inmates/residents working in the area, controlling access to equipment and supplies, and controlling the introduction of contraband items into the facility living areas through proper search procedures. + Provides supervision and direction for assigned inmates/residents in the performance of their duties.
