Are you up for the Challenge? ROLE SUMMARY: Opened in 1988, our Fort Collins Brewery brews 33 different beer brands. In 2018, it became the second brewery with the capacity to support our emergency drinking water program. The team periodically pauses brewing to produce and can emergency drinking water, enabling us to better support our neighbors in need from coast to coast. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to brewery safety and environmental standards including: Lock Out Tag Out, work permitting, Process Safety Management, hazard identification and resolution Operate Brewery Utilities systems including: Steam generation, ammonia refrigeration and dehumidification, CO2 collection and liquefaction, compressed air, water treatment and alcohol distillation, high voltage electricity distribution Perform boiler water and evaporative condenser water chemical treatment Responsible for process management, basic maintenance tasks, lubrication, housekeeping and sanitation Document and respond to all activities that occur during shift of responsibility Respond to customer department requests for assistance with Utility system optimization or troubleshooting Analyze process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activities Lead and participate in continuous process improvement activities throughout brewery JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. LOTO, PSM, personal fall protection, confined space) Stationary Engineers License or current enrollment in a related program is preferred Experience in some or all of the following areas: Water tube medium pressure boilers, large scale ammonia refrigeration systems, CO2 collection and liquefaction, compressed air systems, distillation columns and high voltage electricity distribution Applicant must have basic computer skills Applicant must have a positive work attitude and be self-motivated, be able to work safely and autonomously in a fast paced and often loud production environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation drawings Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose and implement remedies. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Manage/supervise freshwater and treated water transfer operations. Provide pricing proposals from selected vendors. Responsible for maintenance of RBU freshwater assets including pipelines, wellfields, ponds, and pump stations. Meet with landowners and RBU Land Team for temporary transfer right-of-way. Ensure proper timelines are being met and RBU standards and safe operating practices are being followed. Attend operations meetings, hold phone calls daily and meetings weekly keeping RBU and third-party transfer vendor on course to achieve the common goal. Approve and confirm that all removal of equipment and reclamation is done to an RBU standard. Oversight on vendor pricing, assign proper coding and account all invoices for record keeping and future estimates. Works directly with Wells function, holding on-site pad meetings, ensuring proper lay-outs and design of frac pads, allowing proper spacing for on-site water transfer and hydraulic frac'ing operations, making sure all recommended practices and set-backs are met. Providing water for all frac operations as well as coil tubing operations. Direct interface with ditch/irrigation companies on day-to-day activities as needed to supply water to RBU operations. Attend pre-Stake site/stake site/pre-construction meetings, discussing sizes of location and placement of water storage on pad, following regulatory requirements, as well as meter building placement, identifying deficiencies hindering frac operations. Operators are required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as per the shift schedule which is published in advance. **Job Responsibilities** + Uses protective equipment (PPE) as needed to prevent exposure to dangerous chemicals + Follows established procedures as described by Batch Records, GEN's and Work Instructions and OPI's to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products + Follows established procedures as described by SOP's and other operating procedures to maintain a safe working environment that complies with safety and environmental rules and regulations + Transfers raw materials, finished products, wastewater, waste solvents, and other wastes between tanks, drums, and shipping containers using pumps, pressure and other equipment; handles solid chemicals as chemical intermediates, products and waste + Labels hazardous waste containers as appropriate to maintain compliance with labeling regulations and times + Maintains records necessary to record process conditions as defined by procedures and as required in certain circumstances + Maintains the production area(s) in a clean and orderly condition + Performs yard and building cleanup as needed + Performs shipping, packaging and receiving activities as needed + Assists the Production Supervisor in record keeping with daily shift report, inventory sheets, tanker logs, and other documentation + Uses company computer/handheld devices to enter records and documents + Attends training as designated to facilitate above knowledge and to maintain required updates + Must be able to work in confined spaces + Must be able to use a respirator/supplied air when needed (Boulder Scientific provides the training) and follow OSHA, safety, and written guidelines + Handles drums, buckets, and other containers of hazardous and non-hazardous materials as products or waste. Some but not all of these activities including: + Combines partial drums to ensure all waste drums 90% full for shipping + Handles (scooping, shoveling, bucketing) wastes as needed + Repackages wastes for shipment to drum disposal facilities + Cleans drums for shipment to drum disposal facilities + Pumps wastes to tankers as needed **Qualifications** **Qualifications** + High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) + Must pass a basic math and reading assessment **Experience** + Prefer experience in construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries + Prefer experience working 12 hours and graveyard shifts + Prefer experience in a job that is indoor/outdoor and requires physical labor + Forklift Certification - training provided after hire by Boulder Scientific Company + Operator Introductory Training - training provided after hire by Boulder Scientific Company + Entry-level chemical production experience is helpful + Must be able to pass a job-related physical **Working Conditions** The job requires frequent work outside in all weather for short periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push, roll and/or move up to 100 pounds.
