Job Description:
Operates plant and plant operations which includes the manufacturing of asphalt products and design mixes. Duties include maintaining revenue, inventory, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources, and information systems records. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Required to meet certain certifications in asphalt operations. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks such as major maintenance and repair. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to Superintendent of the asphalt plant operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise a crew of 2 to 5 employees at times depending on the schedule.
Must be able to communicate to top management, suppliers, vendors, safety compliance officers and customers to facilitate a safe workplace while performing daily supervision of personnel and equipment.
Must have the ability to produce quality product in a timely manner.
Must have the knowledge of proper asphalt production and all equipment associated with everyday operations.
Must have the ability to lead people and keep daily job cost records, quantities, cost and employee time records.
Must be able to conduct safety huddle and toolbox safety meetings with the crew.
Minimum Qualifications & Training:
Two or more years of asphalt plant operations.
Ability to abide by and communicate precise instructions and be well versed in fall prevention, protection regulations and practices.

10.) Ensure all work is performed with an emphasis on safety. Insist upon compliance of all safety
regulations. Conduct daily huddle meetings with safety as the primary agenda.
11.) Maintain good relations with the general public, engineers, architects, inspectors and
customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image. Develop a
courteous and considerate attitude toward these groups.
12.) Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and
work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
13.) Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.

About you
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Pilot Plant Technician in Wilmington, DE! You are a self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. You can provide support to the operation of the Research & Development (R&D) Pilot Plant. 5.) Perform equipment inspections, request maintenance and repairs as needed.

Perform general labor duties including a designated spotter for trucks and equipment on an asphalt paving lay down crew or grading crew.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs various unskilled task which are associated with asphalt paving and/or grading operations. This includes but not limited shoveling asphalt, stone or dirt.
Uses various tools such as a shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp and concrete saw.
May operate a farm type tractor with power broom attachment.
Perform duties of the designated spotter of which training will be conducted.
