Job Summary
The Control Room Operator will work under supervision and oversee the efficient operation of cement plant equipment and processes.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the operation of SCADA to run all plant processing equipment in the terminal.
Following up with Site tasks and maintenance activities going on around the site.
Initiating meeting with contractors before starting any job, filling up the log and the Scope of work form.
Assist drivers to load trucks and troubleshoot PSCL in some situations.
Should be a point of contact for any updates on the site
Approximately half of the time should be spent on site following up on breakdowns, monitoring critical equipment on site, resolving issues at truckloading/kiosk.
Should be able to use PSCL effectively to make sure the BOL's are printed and the trucks can leave in time.
Responsible for understanding and executing standard operating procedures and ensuring proper response during normal and abnormal operating situations.
Responsible for communicating process events to manager and on-coming shift team members.
Co-ordinate with Maintenance Supervisors/maintenance team to address breakdowns and must decide the urgency of breakdowns so that normal operations are not affected.
Maintain daily log report of all breakdowns, issues, critical Alarms and warnings in the SCADA and important communications mentioned by the manager.
Filling up log sheets in detail, excel sheets and updating critical information on Whatspp group.
Adhered to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Four years cement processing, electrical instrumentation or quality control lab experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and training
Maintenance and/or mechanical experience preferred
Read, understand, and effectively work from written instructions, standard operating procedures, operating manuals, sketches, and flow diagrams
Problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly mathematics skills in dealing with calculations, measurements, units of measure, etc.
A highly organized individual who is efficient and detail oriented with strong leadership qualities
Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and/or overtime as needed
A multi-tasker who can tackle issues and work under pressure
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, excel, teams, as well as other based applications
Working Conditions
Some exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
Must wear protective equipment while at the location at all times
Physical Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists in Emergency Response situations. Fire brigade participation is required.
Perform truck loading operations.
Responsible for spotting railcars in a safe, accurate, efficient manner, following all rules governing railroad switching.
Inspect rail track and notify proper personnel of repair work to be performed
Unload LPG rail cars.
Locomotive Inspection, complete daily engine checklist and schedule diesel fuel for engine when required.
Movement and stopping of the locomotive through radio communications and hand signals
Anticipate and solve routine process problems and correct alarm situations in area to minimize additional process upsets and costs.
Know the location, condition and proper use of safety equipment in assigned area; report abnormalities for repair to insure prompt prevention of hazards.
Complete all assigned trainings. Participate in assigned meetings.
Be available for overtime coverage, even if late notice is given.
Understand all safety procedures and follow safety policies to set an example and to instruct personnel working in assigned area on safety precautions.

High school diploma
Prior chemical plantoperations experience helpful
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Process Technology preferred

The Chemical Relief Process Operator is based out of USALCO's La Porte production facility, located at 9401 Strang Road, La Porte, TX 77571. The individual in this position will be working a Dupont schedule and is also expected to work overtime shifts on an as-needed basis.
The individual in this role is a member of the operations team supporting production assets at the La Porte site. The Relief Process Operator is expected to execute routine tasks that are necessary to maintain the safe and reliable operation of the facility. Basic troubleshooting skills during unanticipated process upsets, as well as collaboration with support functions (Maintenance, Logistics, etc.) as needed to work through challenges that impact the operation of the facility are expected.
Responsibilities:
Work with manager on improving 5S and follow up actions.
Work with manager on improving process and insuring standards are followed.
Have working knowledge of all processes on site and be able to run the different units
Fill in for operators to keep the different production units fully staffed
Complying with stewardship and safety policies
Operate process equipment including but not limited to valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, hoses, etc.
Utilize standard operating procedures when executing tasks
Maintain a high level of operational discipline regarding routine tasks that must be executed
Perform process rounds and collect operating parameter data. Raise awareness to conditions that are outside of expected ranges
