Salary Range: $25.13 - $40.46/Hour Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to serve as the assistant shift supervisor for water and wastewater facilities in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements for the operation of water treatment, distribution, storage facilities and/or wastewater collection, lift stations or treatment facilities. This classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County's Drug & Alcohol Policy. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Assists in the performance of regular and unscheduled repairs and maintenance on plant equipment and machinery; conducts weekly checks of the treatment plant; rotates equipment; changes and connects chlorine and other specialized water treatment plant equipment; monitors chemical feed equipment, operates solids processing equipment; and operates load lugging trucks. Collects potable water and wastewater samples and performs laboratory analysis such as, pH, turbidity, chlorine levels, fluoride levels, dissolved oxygen levels, total suspended solids, and total volatile solids, and temperature on grab samples; and calibrates lab equipment and instruments. Monitors the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems for any changes that may impact the plant processes such as pressure changes, chemical pumps faulting out, distribution storage tank levels, chemical tank levels, turbidity levels, and filter function. Prepares reports and records testing results; completes forms and various paperwork; enters data into the computer; and receives telephone calls and responds to customer complaints. Maintains a safe and clean work environment (both inside the facilities and on the grounds) per OSHA and DeKalb County standards. Assists in the training of entry level operators and lower classifications of operators (II and III) as needed; and participates in continuing education classes and testing to maintain and renew Georgia and DeKalb County certification and licensure requirements. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; four years experience as a plant operator which included two years of experience as a Class II or higher plant operator in a water or wastewater treatment facility; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Purpose of Role The Water Treatment Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the Miura branch offices, factory, and Miura representatives regarding maintenance, production, and sales inquiries, while advancing Miura's water treatment capability inside and outside of the boiler room. This includes research of current and emerging water treatment technologies, determining internal and/or external sources of products, the creation and implementation of support documents, traveling to customer sites for events such as hands-on training and maintenance support, reviewing water analysis reports, and answering inquiries from both maintenance and sales. They are also responsible for analyzing and supporting water treatment business development through activities such as data analysis, product development, and quality improvement. Communication and collaboration includes daily interaction with employees at all levels within Miura, including but not limited to, sales, maintenance, administration, engineering, and production staff, so that support can be provided in a timely manner and correct manner to entities needing support, particularly related to water treatment topics and products. To continue improving the department and self, candidates will be responsible to gain higher levels of education and experience in water treatment equipment and treatment styles. Candidates that have a solid understanding of Miura's system and product lineup - such as installation, operation, maintenance, water treatment - with an ability to convey technical information in step-by-step instructions using excellent verbal and written communication skills will succeed in this role. Essential Functions 1) Advance MIURA's Ability to Perform Water Treatment for an Entire Facility - Inside & Outside of the Boiler Room a. System Development & Integration: Develop, design, and implement water treatment programs for full-facility coverage, including but not limited to cooling towers, closed-loop systems, and wastewater. Evaluate existing MIURA technologies and identify opportunities for adaptation or expansion. Develop modular and scalable treatment solutions tailored to diverse facility types. b. Innovation & Research: Investigate emerging technologies and water treatment methods. Lead pilot projects and field trials to validate new approaches. Assist sales and maintenance/service personnel from Miura and our Representative Network by answering water treatment, water quality, and associated water equipment questions, coordinating with internal departments (Maintenance, Engineering, Maintenance Support, Production Support, etc.) to provide guidance with troubleshooting Miura water quality products and services within the department's guidelines for timeliness and efficiency in the Case Management System. Responsible for supporting the maintenance and sales staff in relation to the subject of water treatment. This involves becoming a technical expert in multiple product lines (chemical, water treatment equipment, federal/state/local codes, and regulations, etc.). b. Water Lab Support Be familiar with water analysis laboratories and the water analysis procedures to support the water analysis labs. c. Create and update supporting technical documentation (manuals, FAQ/quick guides, knowledge base, tools, & calculators, etc.) to assist MAC and Rep maintenance and sales personnel with documents pertaining to content such as PV replacements, retrofits, parts identification, digital services, etc., as identified through a regular case management review and interaction with MAC's Maintenance team. Create and revise documents in support of Sales, Maintenance, and Production Departments in relation to water treatment topics and products. If applicable, translate documents from Japanese to English and/or English to Spanish. Salary Range: $18.59 - $29.93/Hour Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to operate water and wastewater treatment facilities in compliance with federal, State and Local regulations for the operation of water treatment, distribution, storage facilities and/or wastewater collection, lift stations or treatment facilities. Under the supervision of a trained Water or Wastewater Operator this position is responsible for learning all aspects of a water or wastewater treatment plant with the goal of becoming a certified operator. Will be exposed to the following duties throughout a training period: Monitors and adjusts the processing system to meet demands; inspects plant grounds, checks gauges, and takes readings; monitors flow levels, pumps, motors and valves.
