You will work under general supervision or under advisement from higher level Accelerator Technologists and perform assignments of intermediate to advanced complexity in instrumentation & controls work and one or more technical areas of mechanical, refrigeration/vacuum, electrical/electronics, etc. all of which are part of the cryogenics plantoperator skillsets.
The Technologist III is highly proficient and will independently plan and conduct a block of work as a complete project under managerial oversight, or as a portion of a larger and more diverse project, with strict adherence to site-specific safety as well as work planning and control (WPC). The Accelerator Technologist will be in charge ensuring efficient use of resources and monitoring target dates.
**Given the nature of this position, SLAC will require onsite work.**
**Specific job duties include but are not limited to:**
+ Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all types of industrial and commercial grade instruments including sensing elements, transmitters, pneumatic and electronic controllers, transducers, and control valves.
+ Use a wide variety of tools and equipment, such as various hand tools, portable electronic test equipment, calibration, and maintenance tools.
+ Maintain, calibrate, diagnose, and repair control system components including programmable logic controllers (PLC), computers, and communication networks.
+ Perform preventative maintenance and functional analysis of control systems.
+ Perform work by following existing operational & Safety procedures and standards; successful completion of required training and applied adherence in the field.
+ Monitor and perform adjustments to control functions for optimal cryogenics system specifications, availability, and efficiency.
+ Maintain equipment operating records and log sheets.
+ Operate and diagnose complex cryogenic system equipment and solve process problems; capable of independent decision making.
+ Collaborate with experimenters, engineers, physicists, and other groups on the design, installation, modification, and performance of cryogenic systems.
+ Perform tests and precision specification measurements on system components and multiple utility support systems.
+ Become proficient and improve multiple operator skills sets; seek thorough understanding of Instrumentation & Controls, mechanical tech and electrical/electronics principles and hardware.

**Note:** Technologist III is expected to have proficiency to perform intermediate to advanced complexity assignments across multiple disciplines /skills.
**Qualifications:**
+ H.S./GED or vocational school apprenticeship, plus three years of laboratory or industrial mechanical/electrical experience can be substituted. College, Technical degree, or military training, preferred.
+ Demonstrated electrical-mechanical aptitude and ability to perform intermediate to advanced complexity controls/instrumentation job duties.
+ Ability to read and interpret instrument, piping, electrical and electronic drawings, and sketches.

About the role At our Northwest Tennessee Renewable Natural Gas Plant in Union City, TN, we convert landfill gas into pipeline quality natural gas (High Btu or Renewable Natural Gas).
Our Operations Technician operates the landfill gas processing facility.
We process the landfill gas by removing the majority of the non-methane components including CO2, water, sulfur and volatile and non-volatile organic compounds to attain pipeline quality.
The RNG Operator will operate and maintain Landfill gas to High BTU processing facility; which will include Guild gas process, Gas Compressors, CO2 removal system, Thermal-Oxidizers, and H2S removal systems.

The Environmental Services Department (ESD) manages the San Jose/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. Built in 1956, the Facility is a round-the-clock operation that cleans an average of 110 million gallons of wastewater per day and has the capacity to clean up to 167 million gallons per day. The Facility serves eight cities with 1.4 million residents and a business sector with more than 17,000 main sewer connections.
Our wastewater undergoes a sophisticated 10.5-hour treatment process that simulates the way nature cleans water. The Facility removes 99 percent of the impurities before the cleaned water is discharged into the South San Francisco Bay or recycled for other uses such as industrial processes, cooling towers, and flushing toilets.
The Facility is the largest advanced wastewater treatment facility in the western United States. Advanced (tertiary) level treatment is necessary to meet our region's strict state regulations for the shallow waters and sensitive ecosystem of the southern Bay.
Under the direction of the Operations Superintendent, I/II, the Wastewater Operations Foreperson I/II (Foreperson) provides technical oversight of the process area(s), the Facility control room, the Operations training Unit, and/or serves as shift Foreperson overseeing all the wastewater facility operations.
In the process area: The Foreperson provides process control and supervision within their area of responsibility, serves as back-up for Operators, when necessary, prepares for and responds to emergencies, develops standard operating procedures and coordinates maintenance interaction.
In the computer room: The Foreperson monitors and controls the automated operations of the wastewater facility. Forepersons supervise operating personnel assigned to shift or process area and are responsible for ensuring the safety of staff, providing performance management and feedback, training, scheduling, assigning or work, and providing feedback and recommendation for hiring.
In the role of Shift Foreperson: The Forepersons participate in a plant wide rotation which requires them to take on roles of control room operator, shift Foreperson (Supervisor), and managing a process area or assist in operations training. Control Room and Shift Foreperson positions typically work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 environment while process area positions work straight days.
In addition, all Forepersons participate in and provide subject matter expertise in capital projects, and interdepartmental collaborations.

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS) is currently seeking reliable, safety conscious, experienced Boiler Operators (3) for a possible upcoming contract to work full time for SJS in and around Palo Alto, CA to help support operations at 3 medical facilities. This position is contingent upon award of contract.

The pay range for this position will be between $57-$62/Hr.

Currently, the shifts will rotate with 1-2 hours of overtime each week.
This person will enjoy collaborating with a team and know how to conduct themselves with decorum, as they will be working on a property owned by the United States federal government and interacting with federal employees and service members.
Some of the Responsibilities will include:
Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment ranging in size and complexity from hot water tanks and domestic heating systems to power boilers, complex heating systems and auxiliary equipment.
Observes and tests systems for malfunctions. Inspects and adjusts thermostats, switches, regulators, fuel cut-off devices, burners, stokers, fuel feed, flame safeguard controls, relays, solenoids, electronic controls, other safety devices and alarm systems.
Replaces defective burners, pilots, valves, motors, piping, controls, fireboxes, grates, bearings, and oil seals.
Removes and dismantles burner nozzle, strainer, and orifice assemblies, locates defects, repairs, or replaces parts, reassembles, and installs components, tests, and makes necessary adjustments.
Service units by cleaning filters, strainers, orifices, ignition electrodes and adjusting dampers.
Removes soot and fly ash from tubes, chamber ducts, chimneys, and breaching.
Receives work assignments in the form of written or oral work orders and instructions.
Responsible for selecting the proper materials, tools, and techniques to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with applicable standards.
Must use all personal protective gear provided including but not limited to hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses/eye protection, safety hard toed shoes, respiratory protection, fall protection, etc.
Qualifications:
In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.
Must possess a valid state Driver's license.
Possession of a valid operator's license, preferred, but not required.
OSHA 10 will be required prior to starting.
Must have working knowledge of the principles and standard methods of combustion, heat transfer, fuel characteristics, ratios and arrangements of heating surfaces, and the construction and operating characteristics of a wide range of boilers and domestic heating equipment.
Must have a thorough knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic principles and a working knowledge of electronics.
Must have a thorough knowledge of manual, electric, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical boiler, and heating system controls.
Must have the skill and knowledge to use common hand tools; power tools, stationary equipment, and machine tools, such as, saws, grinders, drill presses, and lathes; and test equipment such as pyrometer, ohmmeters, and flow meters.
Must have the skill to install, align, adjust, balance and test system components and equipment.
Must have the ability to apply this broad body of skill and knowledge to the full range of boilers, heating systems and equipment installed, maintained, and repaired.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Power PlantOperator and or Mechanic Technician to join our Renewable Power Plantoperations team at our site location in Half Moon Bay, CA. Ideal candidates could have knowledge with Power PlantOperations, Controls including PLC, HMI and SCADA, Automotive and Diesel mechanic, Power Production, and related fields.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the daily operations of landfill gas to energy power plant.
* Assisting in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating engines, as well as balance of plant equipment, such as compressors, pumps, valves, etc.
* Learn and utilize maintenance database for tracking and completion of all maintenance on site. As well as learn HMI and SCADA functions.
* Participate in scheduling and coordinating subcontractors for equipment services and repairs as needed.
* Conduct inspections, walkthroughs, daily, weekly monthly, and quarterly rounds.
* Maintain compliance with plant specifications, industry, and jurisdictional regulatory entities.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* GED or High School Diploma
* Minimum 2 years equipment operations experience using mechanical, electrical, instrument or control system skills.
* Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience with diesel or natural gas engines preferred.
* Experience performing mechanical maintenance on blowers, compressors, and equipment preferred.
* Experience with Jenbacher, Caterpillar, or Waukesha natural gas engines desirable.
* Must be able to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
* Knowledge of PLC, electrical power equipment, and gas plantoperations experience desirable.
* Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs & transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs.
* Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills preferred.
* At times, may flexibility for 'on call' support or varied schedule needs.
The anticipated hourly range for this role is $33.65-$48.80 per hour (presented in good faith).
