The Production Operator focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment including: Operating machine tool, chemical processing, assembly, or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards •Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods •Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products •Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis and examines production materials for processing. * Operate all equipment as outlined in SOP, conduct set up and breakdown of equipment as required. Notify maintenance of mechanical problems and assist with basic troubleshooting.
* Cross-train to various positions within and possibly outside of the department.
* Move products manually or with assisted devices/equipment, following food safety and sanitary standards.
* Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, carrying out duties following Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S practices, and being responsible for hygiene and housekeeping in a specified work area.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Ability to work well both individually and within a group.
* Able & willing to work all shifts/schedules as needed
Work environment & Physical Demands:
* Lift to 60 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively throughout a 10 - 12-hour shift
* This position will be required to work frequently indoors in a cooled sanitary environment with temperatures 45 degrees or below.
* Frequently around loud production equipment.
