The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Responsibilities for this internship position are: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program. Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC. Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Rome, NY. DAF CLOUDworks is a rapidly growing secure cloud program that encompasses 10+ teams. These teams span all different areas of cloud engineering including information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration. You will be an active part of one of these teams providing technical support of customers leveraging DAF CLOUDworks. Along with operations and sustainment, DAF CLOUDworks focuses on modifying and enhancing offerings to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment. Successful candidates should: Have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders. Be able to follow Agile Development process and full life cycle development Interface with multiple, geographically disbursed teams and effectively communicate project statuses and blockers Basic Qualifications A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: An active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Bachelors degree in Science with 2 years' experience, Masters degree with no experience, or 6 years' experience in lieu of degree Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29 Ability to contribute to the development of technical documentation Knowledge of full software lifecycle and agile development methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate in a team environment. Highly motivated, self-learner, team player, and technically inquisitive Able to obtain IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CASP+ or Security+ within 60 days of start date. Preferred Qualifications: Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) from an accredited institution Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree Knowledge of Cloud-based technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); certification is a plus Proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Design and Programming Experience with Open Container Initiative (OCI) containerized application development (e.g. Docker, Podman) Familiarity with container orchestration tools and techniques (e.g. Kubernetes, helm, flux) Knowledge of the Atlassian toolset (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Experience leveraging Git for code management Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
