Kingsford Manufacturing in Springfield, OR manufactures America's best-loved charcoal briquet for the West Coast, fulfilling our mission to provide sustainable and trusted grilling products that bring people together.
Our team is composed of individuals who possess advanced technical skills, are dedicated to process improvement and have a passion for our product and our plant.
Starting Hourly Rate - $23.61 per hour plus $1.25 per hour when working night shift.
Work Schedule (Briquetting/Process) -
12-hour shifts (6am - 6pm/6pm - 6am)
2-2-3 schedule
56-day rotation (8 weeks of day shift, followed by 8 weeks of night shift)

**In this role, you will:**
The Production Worker is responsible for the processing, manufacture, packaging, storage and distribution of charcoal briquettes.
Plant department overview:
+ Retort - In the Retort department we convert wood waste to char that goes into the charcoal briquettes
+ Briquetting - In the Briquetting department we combine the char and other raw materials to create the charcoal briquette
+ Packaging - In the Packaging department we operate machines that package finished charcoal briquettes into bags
+ Warehouse - In the Warehouse we store finished bags of charcoal briquettes for shipments to customers or other warehouses
The Production Worker principally works in briquetting (process) and duties may include:
+ Unloading bulk raw materials from rail cars
+ Movement of materials across the work site
+ Housekeeping and organization, both in the interior and exterior plant environment
+ Filling in for roles such as dryer tending, bulldozer, forklift driver, quality lab, packaging & shipping

Job Description To perform production tasks to support the needs of the Production Department Production associates operate, monitor, and maintain the production equipment for ensure the highest quality, and productivity at all times. Associates are also responsible for packaging the final product properly as instructed in the product specification sheet. Production associates work within a team. These jobs are Probationary full time,(non-benefited ), to start but pending performance of the individual will convert to Regular Full Time (benefited) within 90 days.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as the ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply, all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic computer skills and the ability to multi-task, as well as the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, to draw and interpret graphs and charts is necessary. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times

In this role, you will:
The Production Worker is responsible for the processing, manufacture, packaging, storage and distribution of charcoal briquettes.
Plant department overview:
Retort - In the Retort department we convert wood waste to char that goes into the charcoal briquettes
Briquetting - In the Briquetting department we combine the char and other raw materials to create the charcoal briquette
Packaging - In the Packaging department we operate machines that package finished charcoal briquettes into bags
Warehouse - In the Warehouse we store finished bags of charcoal briquettes for shipments to customers or other warehouses
The Production Worker principally works in briquetting (process) and duties may include:
Unloading bulk raw materials from rail cars
Movement of materials across the work site
Housekeeping and organization, both in the interior and exterior plant environment
Filling in for roles such as dryer tending, bulldozer, forklift driver, quality lab, packaging & shipping

• Start machine, verify dimension of finished product visually or using micrometers, calipers, or gauges. Remove finished parts from machine.
