Under general direction of the Water Production Lead Operator, the Water Production Operator operates and maintains the water production facilities to assure an adequate supply of potable and palatable water for the public water system and assists in ensuring compliance with all Texas Commission Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules and regulations related to a public water system. Water Production Operator I This entry-level position in water production operations involves working under close supervision while learning and performing essential duties of the trade.. 1. Regulate flow of potable water through the production facilities and maintain water level in reservoir and elevated towers to meet the system demands. 2. Operates a variety of light and heavy equipment involved in construction and maintenance projects such as rollers, graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, or bulldozers. As a pipe coater, you are responsible for performing custom hand coating that is involved in the production of L.B. Foster steel pipe products while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe. Production Workers are trained to work in all areas of production. This is a night shift role but will train on day shift (5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) for one month. Shifts can be from 8 to 12 hours long. Responsibilities Follow all safe work practices and procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Carryout verbal and written instructions from Foreman. Complete jobs in a timely fashion to ensure on time shipment. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists. Trained to complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified. Trained to set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools.
