Duties/Responsibilities • Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds the company's products to those specifications. • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks. • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine/equipment maintenance, and product inconsistencies. • Checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. • Maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports, including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress. • Performs other related duties as assigned. • Accountable for skidded system QC testing, startup, and warranty service. • Overnight travel to job sites for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and servicing. Target frequency is 25%. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records. • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics, and basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing. • Detail-oriented and consistent. • Works well as a productive member of a team. • Able to work independently while on customers' jobsites. Depending on Production department business needs, Utility Operators may be required to do several different tasks within a shift, such as fill in for employees that are absent, provide extra help to complete the daily schedules, and help train other employees. Assists in the Rework Area, Special Projects, Tank Room, and EOL as needed. Performs Line Lead's job responsibilities when needed, which includes working closely with team members to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and in accordance with production schedule in a manner not to sacrifice quality or safety. Provides work direction and training to team members as assigned. Screens full cases at predetermined time intervals to check for defects and completes corresponding quality check paperwork to ensure quality standards are met. Repackages, recodes, and performs other custom casework as needed based upon orders received from the Line Lead. Sweeps and mops the floor in the work area, removes trash from area, and places/crushes the trash and cardboard in the compactor. Additional Responsibilities: Maintains a clean production area and stocks cleaning supplies properly. Actively participates in Lean Manufacturing teams to improve business processes. The Utility is an Operator 1 (Entry) position that will immediately start training to allow future coverage of Operator 2 positions: Filler Driver, Liner Driver, Production Loader, 5H, and Lab Tester.
