Train and instruct assigned employees and perform other work as assigned. Check with the Gasification Production Technician being relieved for special orders and station operating conditions, review log and make a thorough inspection of assigned equipment using the necessary sensory perceptions (see, hear, feel, smell, etc.) to ascertain it's condition and report abnormal conditions and take appropriate corrective actions within control. Check for proper operation, lubrication, cooling water flow and other conditions as required. Operate gasification plant equipment, aux boilers, pumps, valves and other equipment. Maintain all gas, liquid and steam flows, pressures, levels and temperatures within parameters and in a safe and efficient manner. Engage in the necessary operations for placing heaters, coolers, boilers, turbines, water treatment and other equipment in service and removing them from service, maintaining proper sequence in so doing and checking and recording indicating instruments, gauges and meters and other such equipment and make necessary adjustments before it is placed in operation. Check the equipment and perform Gasification Production Tech duties in the assigned areas such as ASU, Cooling Towers, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbine, HRSGs, Switchyard, Water Treat, Deep Wells and Collector Wells, AGR, SRU, TGU, Flare, Weigh Feeders, Rod Mills, Slurry forwarding, Grey and Black Water, LTGC, Gasifiers, RSC, Lockhoppers and the Slag/Drag Conveyors.
