We are seeking for a highly motivated full-time summer intern to apply advanced modeling and simulation techniques including translational modeling and quantitative systems pharmacology/toxicology modeling to enable quantitative translation of literature, in vitro and preclinical data to inform the drug design, clinical dosing regimen and optimal therapeutic windows of therapeutic agents. The Opportunity During the project, the intern will become familiar with Genentech's workflow for quantitative systems pharmacology / toxicology (QSP/QST) model development and its contributions to clinical drug development key decision making. About the role: The Computational Biology group at 10x Genomics is looking for an outstanding intern to work with us in the summer of 2026 for our Xenium product. This person will investigate and develop approaches on Few-Shot Learning for adapting a pre-trained cell segmentation model to a much wider range of cell morphologies, using only a very limited amount of annotated samples. They will work closely with our imaging and assay-development teams to push the state-of-the-art in spatial transcriptomics. The intern will be involved in selecting, implementing, testing, and optimizing models for the purpose of few shot learning, rapidly prototyping methods for internal experiments and early R&D. About Our Team Sandia/California's Thermal/Fluid Science and Engineering Department is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and researchers who specialize in fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer. Potential projects: * Video Streaming Enhancements * Work with the team to enhance adaptive bitrate algorithms for video streaming * Study wireless parameters and use the statistics to guarantee smooth video in all environments * Setup test cases and automation to validate the feature * Automatic frequency selection * Work on algorithms that automatically select a frequency for the drone and docked systems * Characterization of various tools that help in the decision making process * Test and validate the feature across all interference scenarios * Automation * Develop test automated test frameworks for drones in Python * Integrate test cases to CI/CD pipelines * Identify and analyze test failures with the help of data telemetry upload and extraction * Setup SQL queries in the automation to catch SW and performance bugs * Work with Wireless Systems team to setup KPIs and root cause analysis * Ground-to-air Propagation and Interference Modeling for UAVs * Collect empirical data for ground-to-air propagation and interference under various environments. * Develop and validate path loss and interference models for various altitudes and distances * Glass-to-glass Packet Loss Characterization * Instrument the system to capture packet loss across software, hardware, and networking subsystems. * Investigate packet loss behavior through controlled experiments under varied flight and network conditions. * Visualize and interpret results to identify root causes and guide system-level improvements.
